Mcfarlane has been hitting on all cylinders when it comes to their DC Multiverse line and with each year it feels like he is continuously topping himself when it comes to design, character choice, and overall amount of figures being produced! I couldn't be happier with this as we see more and more characters and different versions of characters pouring through in plastic form, and I've recently even gotten some of my most wanted choices such as Starro, the Crime Syndicate, Henry Cavill's Superman, and Grant Gustin's Flash! So with the future of the toyline bright I'm coming around for a part 2 of my top 5 most wanted DC figures from across all DC media, and with it I will be celebrating my 700th post on this blog! Another branch of the Transformers world that Hasbro has been delving into is the Pretenders! Iguanas and the recently revealed Skullgrin are both two examples of these robots being implemented into the recent modern era of figures and they look great. Rather than taking on forms of machinery as their disguise, the Pretenders take on the normally organic form of the native life itself! While that concept with the newer figures seems to be left behind as they are taking the Pretender shells and giving them alt modes, it still provides translation of a lot of those awesome designs and I'm here for it! Throughout the Star Wars franchise the prequel trilogy by far has my preferred designs when it comes to the starships and vehicles seen in the galaxy. While ships like Tie Fighters and X-Wings are wholly iconic, I'm still drawn more towards a lot of the Jedi starfighters, Pod racers, and Separatist droid vehicles that we were introduced to in episodes 1, 2, and 3! Jazwares' Micro Galaxy Squadron has already been pushing ahead with a lot of these vehicles, wave 2 bringing in the Republic Laat and Vulture droids, so my hopes are high to see even more of my most wanted prequel ships in the line! Despite the split responses it got from fans, I was a huge fan of the Masters of the Universe Revelations show that aired on Netflix, and cannot wait for the upcoming Revolution follow up! It brought He-Man into the modern era of entertainment for more mature audiences, and with it was concurrently launched one of the best He-Man lines in my collecting experience! Mattel's Masterverse line has been an absolute delight, and the line has only soared higher and higher with it now encompassing all He-Man related media which has allowed tons of characters and designs from outside the Revelations series to be updated in figure form! Marvel Legends figures based on the films have been so restricted to singular movie waves and then specific special releases later on that it's extremely refreshing to have a line of MCU figures spanning multiple waves! The Disney+ waves have been a lot of fun to see unfold with the shows they run alongside, as well as seeing past characters brought into the line through later waves! Just recently as SDCC we found out that we're getting Classic Loki! And show headliners such as Ms. Marvel and both versions of Moon Knight are coming out as well! The second Sonic film really delivered on everything fan's love from the games with the introduction of Tails and Knuckles, the Death Egg robot, Chaos emeralds and a general fun time that I greatly enjoyed! I cannot wait for the future of this videogame film franchise, and with two solid films that have been honoring the Sonic games very faithfully up to this point I can't wait to see where they head next! The Vintage Collection's history is much more vast than the Black Series when it comes to Hasbro's different Star Wars lines. It has been around for much longer, and had covered a lot of the Star Wars universe by the time Black Series really got up and moving. While it feels like Vintage Collection can sometimes not get as much movement as Black Series these days, it is undoubtedly still a viable line all its own and gets plenty of characters we're still waiting to see in the Black Series.
