The Narutop99 contest was a vote by fans to determine the top 99 favorite characters in all of Naruto, with the top 20 or so collected by Kishimoto on a killer poster for the top winners. Tamashii Nations has certainly taken note of the results and have even begun a subline of figures in their revived S.H.Figuarts Naruto line to celebrate this contest! Naruto, Sakura, and Kakashi are being rereleased with accessories to match their appearances on the poster, while Minato and Itachi are getting brand new figures that pass for standard versions of those characters for the new line, while also including their Narutop99 accessories. With this fan vote essentially telling Tamashii Nations which characters are the most popular amongst fans I'm sure we'll continue to see more characters and designs off the Narutop99 come to the S.H.Figuarts line sooner rather than later, and I've narrowed down my top 5 pics from this poster I'd love to see become reality in figure form!
5. Obito
Obito is an existing mold in the line so one I can see them easily reusing to create another release for the Narutop99 collection. There isn't a whole lot different about him from what we've already gotten (as per the usual with these releases); however, that alternate head with his goggles from his days as a Genin would be so cool to have. And the fan having the "99" on it is a fun detail.
4. Sasuke
Another release that can make easy use of the existing molds in the S.H.Figuarts revived Naruto line, and one that further completes the centerpiece line up of the mural. Sasuke's depiction for the poster has an epic lightning bow and arrow that would no doubt come across as one of the coolest accessories in the line thus far!
3. Sasori
Just like Minato and Itachi being new releases for the revived Naruto line through the Narutop99 collection, so to would be the case for Sasori if he were to see first release through this branding. His base design itself does not skew far from his established appearances. Regarding how much sculpting he would need for his body under the robes, and the potential show-canon accessories he would hopefully have, the immense Narutop99 weapon is cool, but likely would eat up most of the accessory budget.
2. Hinata
I am sorely aching for the line to get into more of the female Kunoichi of the Naruto series, and one that I think makes perfect sense to go for next would be Hinata. She is one of the most iconic characters from the series, and would pair up perfectly with the to be released Sage Mode Naruto and Pain for her role in that final battle. The Narutop99 edition looks like it would come with a sword, as well as a killer beast energy Chakra construct for her left arm! And an overall higher contrasted saturation for her colors.
1. Deidara
Just like Sasori, Deidara's design in the poster matches pretty close to his on-screen appearances meaning that he could pass for a standard Deidara in the line similar to the Itachi and Minato we're getting. The ribboned string of explosives he has created would be a neat accessory for which to display his powers, though I also would hope to see more of his artistic creations from the spiders to the birds! With Tamashii Nations already pulling so much from this poster, and the contest itself showing off the most popular characters amongst fans, hopefully Deidara and the others on this list are closer to becoming a reality than not!
