And just like that, 900 posts have been reached on this blog. I will never get tired of talking about toys and action figures, especially as more new lines and more new companies emerge every year, and the existing lines continue to put out more and more of the designs, characters, and concepts that I love. For the 900th post I'm bringing in a new rendition of my post where I take a look at all the main toylines I collect and what figures I want most from those lines, and with the whirlwind of lines in recent times this list has expanded to include so much more. Unforunately the Lightning Collection from Hasbro seems to be dead, though we did get Dino Thunder Tommy before it ended, and from Star Wars and Transformers we've gotten both Que and Saw Gerrera. 2024 was another banger year for Mcfarlane's DC Multiverse line with waves that brought us older movie designs, classic DC comics designs being more and more prevalent, and a promise already for more great figures in 2025. I've tallied up my personal favorite figures from Mcfarlane's DC Multiverse line for the 2024 year based on sculpting, character and design choice, and what I had the most fun with. Armored BVS Batman The Batman v Superman wave of figures was one of my most anticipated of the year with Mcfarlane giving us several of the characters and designs from the movie in one of the strongest movie waves yet. My personal favorite from that wave was the armored Batman! The silver paintwork of the figure really makes it pop, the scuffing and scratched detailing of the armor brings it even more into the realm of realism, and the cloth cape has a very unique text...

We had seen the concept of platinum chase releases from Mcfarlane before, but 2024 was really the year where the concept rocketed and we saw what felt like a platinum chase for every regular release that came out. These ranged from simple black to blue repaints for Batmen, to clever re-use to give characters different costumes, to sometimes even releasing brand new characters to the line! I had a lot of fun seeing what characters and designs would be released in this fashion, in many cases that being obscure choices that otherwise likely wouldn't have gotten a regular mainline release, and for this list I won't be focusing exclusively on what figures I thought were best overall but what platinum chases I found really clever, surprisingly, or well done! My collecting of S.H.Figuarts really took off in 2024 as I branched out into multiple new and old lines, with Tamashii Nations themselves seemingly taking their figures to the next level between character choices, sculpting improvements, and bringing new shows into the S.H.Figuarts banner! With 2024 come to a close I've put together my list of the top 5 S.H.Figuarts that stood out to me most as my favorites of the year!
