The Star Wars Black Series line from Hasbro has been pushing along, with last year certainly finding itself dominated by Mandalorian, Obi Wan Kenobi, Clone Wars, and Bad Batch content in particular. I'm not complaining, as there were plenty of great figures throughout the year, and as usual, these five I'm about to list off are my personal favorites of 2022! Honorable Mention: Clone Wars Mace Windu (Image Source) Largely a re-use of the pre-existing Mace Windu figure, but it works. Another Jedi to add to the shelf will never be a bad thing, and the addition of the robe and Clone Wars armor give Mace an awesome new look to match the Tartakovsky cartoon. The soft goods work well, and it is nice and easy to get him into plenty of dynamic poses. My only wish is that he would've included a splayed Force-using hand; however, it isn't in The Black Series' style to include alternate hands anyways.  5. Consistently mature and outstanding story telling combined with amazing visuals and a whole cast of well fleshed out characters that make me honestly look at other tv shows I've been watching and wondering why they aren't as good! That goes for some recent Star Wars shows as well. Unfortunately, compared to the likes of Mandalorian and the recent Obi Wan Kenobi the offerings for this series have been slim so far but I'm hoping that picks up in the future and we can get some of the main cast members who have been excluded so far. I'm very excited for characters like Luthen and Vel to join the display, and with an incredible season 1 now behind it, these are my top 5 most wanted Hasbro Black Series figures from Andor! 5. Throughout the Star Wars franchise the prequel trilogy by far has my preferred designs when it comes to the starships and vehicles seen in the galaxy. While ships like Tie Fighters and X-Wings are wholly iconic, I'm still drawn more towards a lot of the Jedi starfighters, Pod racers, and Separatist droid vehicles that we were introduced to in episodes 1, 2, and 3! Jazwares' Micro Galaxy Squadron has already been pushing ahead with a lot of these vehicles, wave 2 bringing in the Republic Laat and Vulture droids, so my hopes are high to see even more of my most wanted prequel ships in the line! Clocking in at 6 episodes, Obi Wan Kenobi on Disney+ is so far the shortest running Star Wars series; however, one of the best and I really enjoyed it for each episode of its serialized story! We were introduced to plenty of cool new characters, a lot of returning characters from the films and series, and most importantly got a new adventure with Ewan McGregor's Obi Wan that I loved seeing play out! The toyline for the show has grown extremely fast as well with Hasbro wasting no time in producing many of the biggest characters and designs from the series, and with the show now wrapped up, here are my most wanted figures to be made from each episode of the series! Disney+'s Obi Wan Kenobi series wrapped up with a bang, displaying one of the most epic lightsaber fights in the franchise's history, and providing lots of emotional payoff for several of the series' storylines. On the toy side of things it has been very refreshing to have around a dozen figures for the series revealed during the show's run, rather than having to wait a year or two out like we often have to do with The Mandalorian. This is hopefully a trend that sticks, because I loved watching the show and turning around to see a character on screen that I just watched have a figure revealed! Hasbro's Black Series has already gone pretty deep into the show's cast, delivering every Inquisitor, multiple looks for Obi Wan, Tala, Ned-B, and others but there is still plenty of great designs from this corner of the Star Wars universe and I hope they come sooner rather than later!
