Action Masters are a part of Transformers history that have been slowly working their way back into modern toylines by way of figures like Slicer and Jackpot! While the original figures were non-transforming figures in the same vein as the currently running RED series, their modern updates have been repaints of normal transforming figures, and the team at Hasbro has said already that they're hoping to bring more and more Action Masters into the present. I am fully okay with that as I love this dive into Transformers history, and there's a few in this list here that I'd love to see updated! (Image Source) 5. The Red series from Hasbro has been moving along slowly but surely, acting as a nice companion line to everything else they have going on. I see how non-transforming Transformers wouldn't appeal to the wider crowds, but I personally really enjoy having 100% screen accurate versions of these great characters without the necessity of transformation and hiding vehicle parts. As always, G1 is a big focus and we've gotten a ton of fan favorite characters such as Bumblebee, Shockwave, Starscream, and Galvatron from the 1986 movie which ticks off a lot of boxes from my previous most wanted. The most recent wave was revealed to be bringing G1 Thundercracker into the mix, and these are five more characters I hope to get one day! (Images source) 5. Hasbro's new line of non transforming Transformers figures called the Red series hasn't come out yet but I'm excited about the line for one simple reason aside from that the figures all look really great so far: other universes will be included. So much of the mainstream Transformers lines right now (aside from Studio Series) is all G1 based with hardly any other Transformers series getting figures, but with the reveal of the Red series there was a point made already that despite all the revealed figures being from G1, other franchises from the Transformers universe would be included as well! That makes me excited for the potential figures to come from the line, and to not just expect another G1 line on the shelves! Hasbro's statements made already about their new line of non transforming Transformers figures including other universes aside from G1 have me excited about the future of the line and all the different characters we could possibly see with the door already open to non-G1 designs. The reveal of the Red series from Hasbro provides an entirely new way to collect Transformers figures and finally gives the series a proper 6 inch, highly articulated and accurate line of figures to rival Marvel Legends and Black Series! While non transforming figures will not be a lot of fans' preference, I'm very intrigued by the line and the potential figures that can come out of it. The ones that have been revealed so far, Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Soundwave from G1, all look stellar and are likely some of the most accurate figures of the characters to be released! While the line has promised to venture into different universe from the franchises long history, G1 will no doubt be the main source of characters for the experimental line and I hope it continues for a long time.
