(Image Source) The Mandalorian and Grogu has finally premiered and it brought with it a whole second wave of figures to flesh out the cast of the film for Hasbro's 6 inch Black Series line. We've gotten big characters like Embo and Zeb who were missing from the first wave, not to mention army builders like the remnant Snowtroopers and a Mercenary Droid which I was both hoping to see developed into figures in the line! Having seen the film for myself I know there are several more designs that would make for amazing action figures from a film filled to the brim with alien and droid designs!  5. Hugo Durant (Image Source) Rio was one of my favorite parts of the Solo movie, so seeing another of his species appear it was a ton of fun, now as a food truck chef who serves Mando with information throughout the film. (Image Source) A new Star Wars movie is nearly upon us and I for one am very exciting for the toy rollout for the movie and seeing it if gets the same amount of fanfare and backing that a lot of previous Star Wars movies have gotten from Hasbro! I remember the waves upon waves of new movie figures for films like Last Jedi and Solo, seeing new characters and designs put out with the hype surrounding the release, and so far we've gotten one wave of Mandalorian and Grogu figures with a couple of exclusives and hopefully lots more around the corner! With the release of the film still impending we don't have a full knowledge about the roster of the movie or even clear looks at a lot of the characters and designs in it, but from what we know and what has already been released these are the top figures I want from the new movie! 5. This was a big year for the prequel trilogy in Hasbro's Star Wars The Black Series and you'll definitely see that reflected in my ranking of my top 5 favorite Black Series figures of 2024. With 2025 already promising several great releases I'm circling back to 2024 one more time for my favorite releases of the year! (Images Source) 5. Destroyer Droid A long time coming was the Destroyer Droid who came out as a magnificent deluxe release. The sculpting work captured all the mechanical detailing and the coloring on this droid invokes the movie design perfectly. The articulation scheme complements the design well, and it can even transform into a ball like seen in the films! 4. Yord, Sol, Jecki I seem to be amongst the minority who really enjoyed The Acolyte. It was a blast of pure Jedi/Sith action that introduced several new characters into the Star Wars universe who I've been more than excited to add to the collection. (Banner Images Source)   (Following Images Source) There are sides of the Star Wars franchise which sees more releases than others when it comes to what Hasbro's Black Series line puts out, and with the heavy focus on the Disney+ shows as of late we have seen less output from the films themselves; however, classic designs are still readily being pumped into the line and from each film in the franchise I'm still getting a lot of figures I want, such as Bodhi Rook from Rogue One, Celebration Luke and Ewoks from the original trilogy, and Dooku, Super Battle Droid, and Droidekas from the prequel trilogy! Recent years have made big strides in rounding out a lot of long time wishlisted characters and designs for the Black Series line of Star Wars figures by Hasbro. The wait for a Super Battle Droid and Droideka were shockingly long but have finally become a reality, not to mention iconic original trilogy designs like Wicket and the Endor Rebels have been released by the line as well. There will still always be characters the line has to get to though, and with this May 2024 edition of Hasbro's top 5 omissions in the line so far I've thought up characters from across the franchise who have shockingly never been released in the Black Series line when you think of  "which characters have/have not had 6 inch scale toys from Star Wars yet?" 5. The Force Unleashed has been one of the latest games to finally be delved into, with Galen Marek being given a 6 inch action figure that fans of the line have been waiting for. The Force Unleashed games stunned players with a litany of epic Force abilities that truly made you feel like you were playing as the most powerful Force user in the Galaxy, and alongside that were a cool cast of characters with diverse designs that I'd love to see more of in Hasbro's Star Wars Black Series line!
