Solo: a Star Wars story review

Oh, trust me, I was there on opening night thursday to see this movie, and this review would've been out the same night but I had work and other responsibilites to get to, but now I'm here! Not even a year after the last Star Wars released we are already blessed with another Star Wars movie on the big screen. This one has not been as hotly anticipated by fans as some of the other recent movies, but for me, Solo was a movie I was really looking forward too and I am glad to say that I was not disappointed by the film! Spoilers going forward are painted in red Just to start things off, I'll say that I realize I ramble on a lot in my reviews, so I'll try and keep this more compact and less rambly. And to also start off, I'll say that I disagree with a lot of reviewers and other professional opinions that are being said about this movie, I didn't think this movie was forgettable, and I definitely did not find the characters underwhelming. I will go out and say tha

The Flash S04 EP23 Season Finale Review

And with that final episode, season four of The Flash has come to a close on a stellar season that really raised the level of content on the show. No more sloppy story telling like when it came to Zoom and Savitar, no big deviations from the plot of the season, season four was focused, linear, and worked in a clear line towards the finale dealing with Devoe. It truly felt like the season finale too, which is something I feel the past two season have been unable to capture, so without further ado, lets look into the season finale of Flash's season four. It began by giving us the return of the police captain, long time no see, as he is getting ready to let Barry over the phone know that he will be getting his job back. Then the Enlightenment hits, power goes out all over the city and a purple wash of light baths itself across the Earth, emitting from the satellites Devoe launched. Panic ensues, all while The Thinker watches over it all. Within STAR labs the team is lost for what to

Deadpool 2 movie spoiler review

When Deadpool 1 hit theaters it is safe to say that it made a sizable splash in the superhero genre and swore its way into the hearts of fans everywhere, and while some may disagree with me, the movie may have been very different from those before it, but Deadpool 1 wasn't the best film. It was bogged down by too much Wade Wilson and not enough Deadpool, and relied on raunchiness and gore to differentiate itself instead of the trademarked fourth wall breaking humor. Suffice to say, Deadpool 2 remedied that all for me, with a movie that rarely takes Deadpool out of the suit, gives a complex story filled with surprising heart, and crams more fourth wall gags than you could count. Deadpool 2 is a blast to watch, and here is a OBLIGATORY SPOILER WARNING  before we continue. Deadpool 2 begins by poking fun at the first film possibly, as Deadpool tells viewers that they will have to flashback to see how he ended up blowing himself to kingdom come (as reference to the several flashbacks

The Flash S04 EP22 Review

Flash hit the ground running on the second to last episode of season 4. There were many revelations and plot points that occurred during the span of last night's hour, and it does not bode well for our heroes in the coming episode. One things for sure, it certainty feels like this season is reaching a climax. Spoiler warning out of the way, let's look into the episode, "Think Fast." It began with a wicked opening scene during which Devoe used his multitude of powers to barrel past the guards of ARGUS on his way to Fallout. It was a delightful scene to watch and all encompassed in one take, with each of the powers being used in a clever manner. It truly showed the danger that Devoe poses and was almost more satisfying to watch than how the speedster villains would just blast through with a bolt of lightning and everyone would fall down. Devoe didn't need super speed in order to take out everyone without a problem, and he was able to simply walk into the facility

Top 5 most wanted Hasbrolab projects

Image
Not too long ago Hasbro launched their new crowdfunding service that would usher in a new process through which to do larger scale projects, and the first of their new kickstarter website was a 3.75 inch scale vehicle of Jabba's Sail Barge from Return of the Jedi that measured around 4 feet long! It came out to a roaring success despite a lull in its traction, and Hasbrolab is no doubt chugging along with optimism that this process can be a success going forward. It got me to thinking what I would like to see appear on this website in the coming years, what projects I've wanted that are now more of a possibility that Hasbrolab is now an option to get them made. (Link to Hasbrolab website) 5. Bayformer Revenge of the Fallen Devastator The only non-Star Wars item on this list, Devastator from the recent live action movies did not get to do much of anything during his time on screen but his design is still one I love even if it isn't very G1 inspired. With the recent s

The Flash S04 EP21 Review

The Flash returned this week for its first of the final three episodes of the season, and while there was much to enjoy about it, this episode falls much flatter than many of the past ones. We see a more Caitlin-centric episode as she tackles her Killer Frost dilemma more head on, while Amunet Black and the Council of Wells make their reappearance for probably the final time in the season. Without further preview, lets look into a spoilerly discussion of the episode. I would be the first to say that I am not much of a fan of Amunet Black. She rubs me the wrong way and her character just doesn't do it for me; her British accent was odd and it was equally weird seeing her use another accent tonight, along with the actor portraying her seemingly trying to make her mouth as wide as possible. Amunet Black seems to be like a walking cartoon character and not one that can exist in the real world, and while I know the Flash has done some unrealistic things, its uncommon that a character

Top 10 most wanted Mega Construx Kanto Pokemon

Image
Mega Construx has seemingly struck gold with their Pokemon line of build-able figures. For the most part I think every Pokemon they have built has looked really well done. The recent 2018 Toyfair saw many on my wishlist come true, from Mewtwo to Wurmple, and it got me thinking about what else I would want to see in the future of this line. Specifically, I will be going over the Kanto region of Pokemon as that is the most prevalent region in the line so far, and Pokemon from those original Red and Blue games are seemingly more likely to be made than Pokemon from any other region. With the intro out of the way, let's get into my top picks for the top 10 Kanto Pokemon I would like to build. (Image Source) Honorable mention: Ditto I love Ditto, when I first found a Ditto my kid shelf foolishly mistook it for a legendary and I used my master ball on it! Since then it has had a special place in my heart, not to mention how cute it is as a little pool of pink slush! He also remi

The Flash S04 EP20 Review

"Therefore she is" is the twentieth episode of the Flash's season four run, and it is another heavy Thinker episode that delves more into the character's background, while the present day story sets up what exactly his plan for the "enlightenment" could be. While this happens we get drama with Cisco and Gypsy's relationship, while the ending provides an exciting stinger for what the future of the show may look like. Without further ado, spoilers ahead. As mentioned, the brunt of the episode was about Devoe and his wife as the episode constantly gave us flashback sequences to their first few months together, from their first meeting, to their first date, and to when Marlize uncovered Devoe's future sinister plans which initially revolted her. It was sweet and tender seeing the two of them coming together and meeting for the first time, and while I did think it was a bit hammy seeing Devoe all down on his luck looking like a slob and spouting, "
