(Image Source) The Mandalorian and Grogu has finally premiered and it brought with it a whole second wave of figures to flesh out the cast of the film for Hasbro's 6 inch Black Series line. We've gotten big characters like Embo and Zeb who were missing from the first wave, not to mention army builders like the remnant Snowtroopers and a Mercenary Droid which I was both hoping to see developed into figures in the line! Having seen the film for myself I know there are several more designs that would make for amazing action figures from a film filled to the brim with alien and droid designs!  5. Hugo Durant (Image Source) Rio was one of my favorite parts of the Solo movie, so seeing another of his species appear it was a ton of fun, now as a food truck chef who serves Mando with information throughout the film. (Image Source) A new Star Wars movie is nearly upon us and I for one am very exciting for the toy rollout for the movie and seeing it if gets the same amount of fanfare and backing that a lot of previous Star Wars movies have gotten from Hasbro! I remember the waves upon waves of new movie figures for films like Last Jedi and Solo, seeing new characters and designs put out with the hype surrounding the release, and so far we've gotten one wave of Mandalorian and Grogu figures with a couple of exclusives and hopefully lots more around the corner! With the release of the film still impending we don't have a full knowledge about the roster of the movie or even clear looks at a lot of the characters and designs in it, but from what we know and what has already been released these are the top figures I want from the new movie! 5. While the Black Series 6 inch line of figures from Hasbro can sometimes feel like it's slowed down, it no doubt still releases plenty of exceptional releases throughout the year and 2025 was no different! With the first waves of 2026 already upon us, this is my look back at my top five favorite Hasbro Star Wars Black Series figures from last year! (Images Source) 5. Luminara My jaw was literally dropped when I saw the Fan Channel wave reveal of Luminara, Shaak Ti, and Sebulba. Undoubtedly one of the best waves for Prequel fans, and while I personally prefer Shaak Ti I can't deny that Luminara came out as a more well rounded action figure. the soft goods have great detail on them, the head sculpt is immaculate and the design of the headdress still allows for plenty of head movement.  4. The next toyline I will be looking at for my 2025 retrospective will be the Micro Galaxy Squadron line from Jazwares representing a relatively in-scale line of vehicles from the Star Wars universe. In some ways I feel like this line has slowed since the original booming start of the line; however, I more chalk that up to the line settling in as a constant shelf presence. I will be looking forward to see how the line continues to evolve in 2026, but for now these are my top five favorite vehicles we got in 2025! (Images Source) 5. Jurassic World came back hard with Rebirth, one of my favorite films in the franchise and one that brought a hefty load of fun dinosaur scenes to reinvigorate the series with! The Hammond Collection was firing on all cylinders as well, topping last year's offerings of the Therizinosaurus and Giganotosaurus with some of the very best dinos released in the line thus far, beating out all the competition from the mainline, and to kick off my 2025 figure retrospective I've compiled my top 5 personal favorite Jurassic World figures from Mattel in this list! Troodon The Troodon was a non-movie addition to the line and a very welcome one as I loved its design, its coloration, the smoky eyeballs along with the quills running down its back and head. (Images Source) It feels a little odd to think of a toyline "remastering" figures in the same vein as remastering films, but we've been seeing it as a growing trend whether it was the deceased Lightning Collection and their remastered Mighty Morphin figures, Black Series giving us updated versions of older figures such as Jango Fett and Revenge of the Sith Anakin, and now Studio Series with VW Bumblebee and AOE Grimlock receiving brand new figures in the line to improve upon their past releases. Both have been great examples of how a character can be improved with time and the just in figure technology, with Bee based less on concept art, and Grimlock being more in-line with the size we truly see in the film. Product spanning out into 2026 has been granted to us, and what a host of reveals it was! A brand new G1 Seeker mold that is already confirmed to be used for both Skywarp and Starscream in the future. The TLK Nemesis Prime retool/repaint we were promised, as well as TLK Barricade and 86' Windcharger! The big talking point is no doubt the line's first ever Titan Class figure, one that rectifies a scale issue from the very start of the line and upgrades AOE Grimlock to the gargantuan size that fits his appearance in the film! Now we are seven waves deep with G1, IDW, Shattered Glass and Transformers: One all under heavy representation. Many had been beginning to wonder if that first wave of Transformers: One figures were going to be a one off to celebrate the launch of the movie, but lo and behold we have a whole second wave of One characters and designs to further flesh out the film in what is now the most expansive toy collection for the origin story. All three versions of both Optimus and Megatron, both B-127s, several miners, and now the primary three Elite Guard members! Since I last took a look at what female characters from the Star Wars universe I wanted most in the line we've gotten many ranging from Mandalorian's Armorer to more Leias and another Padme, as well as prequel Jedi such as the above pictured Shaak Ti and Luminara! Star Wars has always been a franchise with a strong sense for writing powerful female characters, and I've drawn up another post with my next most wanted female characters in the line!
