There were some amazing designs and characters introduced in these movies, and the hype is certainly real for these characters especially as we saw how excited fans were for Turles. This list compiles my top five most wanted Dragon Ball Z film figures! 5. Cooler's Armored Squadron The Cooler movies have enjoyed two really well done offerings from Tamashii at this point with their final form Cooler and the Metal Cooler from the sequel. Hasbro's Star Wars the Black Series line hasn't had my attention as of late as it used to have, which may be attributed to several other toylines pulling me up and other toylines giving me more of what I want whereas a lot of recent Black Series offerings haven't entirely been tailored towards me. However, 2024 looks to be a banger of a year so far with a heavy focus on the prequels which I will always be excited about, but being that there are pipelined characters and creatures I've been wanting for a while, as this is all just a taste of what we're getting this year! So with 2024 rolling through into March already, these are my top 5 most anticipated Black Series releases of the year! 5. (Image Source) The Transformers Cybertron show is one that Hasbro has been slowly dipping into with recent years, starting with Optimus Prime back during Siege, and more recently with an awesome Override and an epic Metroplex which took 2022's slot as the premium Titan class figure! While the overall quality of the show is up for debate, it stands as a show already with its foot in the Legacy roster, and several really fun designs and characters that I'd love to see updated and reintroduced into current toylines! 5. Consistently mature and outstanding story telling combined with amazing visuals and a whole cast of well fleshed out characters that make me honestly look at other tv shows I've been watching and wondering why they aren't as good! That goes for some recent Star Wars shows as well. Unfortunately, compared to the likes of Mandalorian and the recent Obi Wan Kenobi the offerings for this series have been slim so far but I'm hoping that picks up in the future and we can get some of the main cast members who have been excluded so far. (Image Source) Super7's line of Godzilla Ultimates! figures looks to be vying for one of the best Godzilla action figure lines of all time! The line up of monsters and designs so far have been epic, ranging from franchise favorites like Burning Godzilla and Destoroyah, to more surprising choices like Biollante's Rose form and the meltdown Burning Godzilla! The six figures revealed so far though share one thing in common and that would be that they all hail from the Heisei era of the Godzilla series, arguably some of the best films from the franchise! A controversial Transformers series among fans that hasn't been touched upon yet in Legacy but I'm hoping it eventually is because I actually quite liked it! It definitely made some odd choices as a sequel to Beast Wars, but growing up I ended up watching Beast Machines first and found it to be a lot of fun with cool characters, and a lot of very unique ideas that we hadn't seen in Transformers up to that point! The Beast fever is no doubt going to be high with Kingdom revitalizing Beast Wars displays, and the upcoming Rise of the Beasts introducing Beast-formers to the mass audience. Studio Series has always been killing it as one of Hasbro's top performing Transformers toylines, consistently taking insane designs from the live action films (and recently the original G1 film) and turning them into screen accurate toy versions of what we saw on screen! We've gotten a ton of figures that I had been guessing we'd be getting sooner rather than later such as the Autobots and Soundwave from the Bumblebee movie opening scenes, The Fallen (finally), not to mention Blitzwing, Perceptor, and Blaster from the 1986 movie! Action Masters are a part of Transformers history that have been slowly working their way back into modern toylines by way of figures like Slicer and Jackpot! While the original figures were non-transforming figures in the same vein as the currently running RED series, their modern updates have been repaints of normal transforming figures, and the team at Hasbro has said already that they're hoping to bring more and more Action Masters into the present.
