Mcfarlane did not put out as many Build-a-Figure waves as he did last year, but the ones that we got this year still greatly expanded our roster of characters in the line and really helped fill out some specific displays from the Titans to the live action film universes! With four waves of figures and four Build-a-Figures in total coming from the main DC Multiverse toyline this year, this'll be my list ranking from bottom to top my favorite Build-a-Figures from Mcfarlane's DC Multiverse for 2023! 4. Mr. Freeze (Batman and Robin) (Image Source) Starting off the list will be Arnold's Mr. Freeze from Batman and Robin, undoubtedly the main surprising wave of figures to come from Mcfarlane this year! Mcfarlane's line of DC Multiverse figures continues to live up to its namesake of "multiverse" with characters receiving multiple alternate iterations in the toyline from throughout the history of the DC universe! We've gotten so many cool characters and awesome alternate designs for characters, and with more and more characters coming through there are more and more designs for these characters that I want to see visited in the future! 2021 has come to an end and with it have come the releases for 2021 from all my favorite toylines! One toyline that has been steadily still chugging along has been Mcfarlane's DC Multiverse line which I've been loving! Such a vast array of designs and universes captured in one toyline that's been digging deeper and deeper into the character history of the DC universe even if it is still a predominantly Batman line. 2021 brought a lot of great releases to the line with the Snyder cut figures, Last Knight on Earth, Injustice 2, and lots of others, but here I've boiled it down to my top 5 favorite of the year, with a few honorable mentions to start us off! Continuing the series I started where I take a look at Mattel's DC action figures compared to Mcfarlane's line of DC figures, this will be my third round coming around to compare and contrast the characters that exist in both company's lines! Continuing with the theme I started in a previous post, I will be taking characters designs that both Mattel and Mcfarlane utilized for their respective DC action figure lines and comparing my thoughts on the differences between how the two companies approached the figures.
