The Star Wars Black Series line from Hasbro has been pushing along, with last year certainly finding itself dominated by Mandalorian, Obi Wan Kenobi, Clone Wars, and Bad Batch content in particular. I'm not complaining, as there were plenty of great figures throughout the year, and as usual, these five I'm about to list off are my personal favorites of 2022! Honorable Mention: Clone Wars Mace Windu (Image Source) Largely a re-use of the pre-existing Mace Windu figure, but it works. Another Jedi to add to the shelf will never be a bad thing, and the addition of the robe and Clone Wars armor give Mace an awesome new look to match the Tartakovsky cartoon. The soft goods work well, and it is nice and easy to get him into plenty of dynamic poses. My only wish is that he would've included a splayed Force-using hand; however, it isn't in The Black Series' style to include alternate hands anyways.  5. (Image Source) The newest animated show from Star Wars has hit screens, and it is right up my alley as it is exploring the Jedi and Force wielders from the Prequel era! Tales of the Jedi gave us a look at Dooku's turn to the dark side, as well as more history for Ahsoka. With other animated shows like Clone Wars and Bad Batch getting plenty of figures I'm hoping Hasbro will follow suit for this series, and these are the top 5 figures I want from season 1! 5. Ahsoka's mom (Image Source) Ahsoka's half of the series gave us a look at her first moments coming into contact with the Force, and with it we saw her family and in particular her mother who faced off against a gnarly looking beast to try and protect Ahsoka. My most wanted accessory for this would be baby Ahsoka herself, one of the most adorable things on screen since Grogu! 4. There's some really obvious characters and designs from the Star Wars universe that I'm very surprised we haven't gotten in the line yet! We've been getting a lot of those characters such as Saw Gerrera, Boba Fett and Ahsoka from The Mandalorian, as well as Echo from the Bad Batch to finish out the team; there still somehow always seems to be more big characters that have yet to be introduced to this nearly 10 year old line at this point! Endor rebels For a long time all we were getting were Stormtroopers and Clone troopers, and then we got the release of the Fleet Trooper who was followed soon after by the Hoth rebel trooper, adding to the ranks of the rebellion and filling out two big designs from the original trilogy. While the Boba Fett tv show did a lot of things that I didn't entirely agree with, and didn't exactly hit the mark for me, it still delivered a lot of really sweet designs for new and returning characters that definitely need to be touched upon in the Black Series line from Hasbro! These would be my top 5 choices to hopefully see later this year and beyond, with SPOILERS being fair warning for any who haven't seen the show yet. (Image Source) 5. Tusken Raider Chief and Trainer Something I did enjoy quite a bit was showing Boba Fett survive the Sarlacc and go on to live with a tribe of Tuskens ala Dances with Wolves. The group met an unceremonious off screen slaughter, but while we got to enjoy them two particular members who stood out was the tribal chief of the village, and the primary trainer who taught Boba their fighting style. 2021 for Star Wars the Black Series seemed to be a year dominated by Bad Batch and Mandalorian figures which I really have no place to complain about as I loved getting so much figure representation for those two shows! The surplus of other figures we got as well really helped to round out more of this galaxy and even delivered one character in particular that has topped my most wanted lists for years! So moving ahead with 2022 in full gear, these are my top 5 favorite Black Series figures of 2021! 5. Imperial Crosshair Without a doubt, my favorite portions of the Bad Batch show were the episodes dealing with the team confronting Crosshair who had turned to the side of the Empire! It made for a thrilling, tense dynamic between the characters and I was so happy to get Crosshair's imperial uniform in figure form to go along with the rest of the cast! Star Wars' newest animated televisions series, The Bad Batch, recently finished up and while there were a lot of episodes that amounted to filler for the series there were also lots of episodes that I really loved! The Star Wars universe got bigger with this show, and within this show we got to see lots of recognizable, familiar characters as well which was a thrill. The animation is some segments were truly spectacular, and the main storyline of the series kept me thoroughly engaged! From my previous list of my most wanted Bad Batch figures we now have Tech and the Imperial outfitted Crosshair, with Fennec Shand confirmed to be coming down the pipeline! So with season 1 having wrapped up, and having seen the entirety of the series, these are my new top 5 most wanted figures from Bad Batch! Recent times have been pretty good to me in terms of action figure collecting given that many of my most wanted action figures from my major collecting lines were made! We finally got Bodhi Rook in Hasbro's Black Series line for Star Wars which I've been waiting for since the release of Rogue One! We also got the awesome Cassie in Power Ranger's Lightning Collection, as well as Mcfarlane's DC Multiverse rendition of Henry Cavill's Superman which blows away Mattel's version! I've thought up new figures to take all of their places, and so here is my vol 2 of my most wanted figures from each major toyline I collect! While the Black Series line of Star Wars figures have made great strides in filling out some of their biggest holes in the collection, with such an expansive universe there are always going to be major characters and designs that are eagerly awaited by fans and with many of my previously listed biggest omissions finally being fulfilled, such as Dooku, Ewoks, and Bodhi Rook, I'm back around with a new assortment of characters I think are long overdue for the figure treatment.
