We are already getting deep into the 2026 movie season but I wanted to make sure I wrapped up on catching up on the 2025 movies I wanted to see before putting together my yearly list. 2025 had a ton of great hits and one of the best summer seasons we've seen in years! There were high point movies, and low point movies, and from everything that came out that I managed to see either in theater or at home on streaming these are the top 10 films of 2025 that in my humble personal opinion are my favorites of the year.  (Images Source) Honorable Mentions: Last Breath and Revenge of the Sith rerelease Last Breath was a movie that came out pretty early in the year and I heard virtually no one talk about it. It was a tense, small film with a great line up of actors capturing an incredible true story that has to be seen to be believed! Sinister Strange This was the one we all thought was Strange Supreme after the first trailers but the movie itself makes it very evident that this is not the case, the character has a different history and very much strays towards the side of evil. He did provide for one of the visually most exciting fights in the movie for the short time he was present, especially the musical battle sequence! (Image Source) 4. The Illuminati There's one character from this team that I will safe for later on but the team as a whole was very cool to see and provided for one of the most gruesome battle scenes in the whole of the MCU! There were so many awesome easter eggs to be found in this group as well, with Black Bolt being brought back with a comic accurate suit, Xavier from the X-Men films being present, and Captain Carter being translated into live action! Over the summer the MCU gained back two major properties that are set to make a big splash in the universe when they arrive. This is the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four, the latter of which has already been specifically mentioned to have a movie in the works. Avengers Endgame brought about the end of the current MCU as we know it with an epic conclusion to its massive storyline; however, the MCU is confirmed to still be continuing with new characters and new storylines as it paves its way into the future of the universe. While we already have several new characters to act as the universe's new Avengers, there are undoubtedly going to be more characters introduced and I have a few ideas about who I want to see next.
