The Transformers TCG has their fifth wave coming up and the card game seems to show no signs of stopping, and I'm glad about that. I love collecting and playing this game, as well as seeing what characters and gimmicks are introduced into each new wave that we get! I was hoping that we would get waves for some of the other Transformers universes aside from G1, but it seems like the card game for now is focusing on the Generations line of toys that focuses on G1. However, the makers behind the game have said that they will include characters from other shows in the waves every so often. We've seen this with Cybertron Mudflap in Siege 2, Demolisher in wave 1, and now with Tidal Wave revealed in Titan Masters Attack! The reveal of Tidal Wave got me insanely excited for the upcoming wave, and also got me thinking what Armada characters I hope will pop up in new waves at some point! The Transformers card game has branched out into other continuities a couple times to bring us non G1 characters such as Demolisher from the War for Cybertron games, who was based on an Armada character. One of the most recent notable non G1 characters to make their debut in the card game is Lockdown, who originally hails from the Animated tv show, and with the hopes that the card game will continue to pull characters from other Transformers universes I'm looking towards Animated in this post for the top 5 characters from that show I'd like to see receive cards in the card game from Wizards of the Coast. Wizards of the Coast, the folks behind the awesome Transformers the card game, have stated previously that the Generations line of Transformers figures would be a big inspiration towards where the waves of the card game went and what characters would be introduced to the fold. Before Siege hit, Power of the Primes was the big Transformers toyline that fans got for a year. There were some very fantastic characters choices in the line, and the Transformers card game by Wizards of the Coast had already pulled from it for characters like the Volcanicus combiner, and the Dreadwing combiner. The makers of the Transformers card game, Wizards of the Coast, have made it evident that the various Transformers toylines over the years will serve as a basis for a lot of the waves that we get in the game. With that said, I've already seen that in play with Siege being a big focus for the past two waves, and Combiner Wars being a source for the second wave of the game. So with that in mind, I'm looking back at the original start of what was called the "generations" line of Transformers action figures with the 2010/2011 line up of Transformers that kicked off the yearly line we know now. The second and final wave of Siege themed cards in the Transformers card game from Wizards of the Coast came out recently, and while we got a ton of the characters from the toyline there ended being a hand full who didn't make it into the wave. While I don't except another Siege themed line again, I would still love for these characters to make an appearance at some point in the card game. So with wave 5 of the card game teased, and the game seemingly not slowing down at all, here is my second list of top 5 Siege toyline characters I want in the Transformers card game! Wizards of the Coast recently made the announcement about wave 5 of their Transformers card game, featuring a picture of a Megatron that looks VERY alike to the Titans Return figure from a few years ago. WOTC have said that the next wave would be a "throw back" to an earlier toyline, and from the announcement it seems that Titans Return might be the toyline they'll be pulling from next for their pool of figures! This could introduce Headmasters to the card game as well, a major new gimmick that would change up the game just like Micromasters and Battlemasters! With this as a possibility, I'm looking back on Titans Return for what my top 5 most wanted character cards from that bunch of toys would be for the Transformers card game! We are now four waves deep into the Transformers card game by Wizards of the Coast! A lot of great cards and characters have been represented in the line already, with a lot hailing from the earlier season of the original tv show. The first season has been getting a lot of love but there are still a few more characters from that original first batch of episodes that still haven't made it into the card game! In fact, if I counted right (which there's a strong possibility I didn't), there are only 5 major characters from the first season still left to appear in card form! So while these are my top 5 most wanted G1 season 1 characters for the card game, it may also be the 5 remaining G1 season 1 characters for the card game!
