(Image Source) The Mandalorian and Grogu has finally premiered and it brought with it a whole second wave of figures to flesh out the cast of the film for Hasbro's 6 inch Black Series line. We've gotten big characters like Embo and Zeb who were missing from the first wave, not to mention army builders like the remnant Snowtroopers and a Mercenary Droid which I was both hoping to see developed into figures in the line! Having seen the film for myself I know there are several more designs that would make for amazing action figures from a film filled to the brim with alien and droid designs!  5.   (Images Source) Pacific Rim is one of my absolute favorites films from the 2010s and one was of the movies that really defined my film tastes as a teenager. NECA put out an impressive spread of designs from the movie, with Diamond Select hammering out a lot of the second film, and now Lingjihun has taken up the torch with some incredibly breathtaking new releases for this movie. Their Crimson Typhoon is perfection, and the subsequent releases like Gypsy Danger and Gypsy Avenger have been very impressive as well, not to mention the insane looking Leatherback as the line's first Kaiju release. There's lots of characters that haven't had figures before, or I'm excited to see Lingjihun tackle, and so this post will count down the figures I want most from Lingjihun's Pacific Rim line! 5. (Images Source) Sonic the Hedgehog 3 taking the top spot on my list of favorite 2024 movies should tell you all you need to know about what I thought of the incredible conclusion to Sonic's first movie trilogy. It was a hilarious and emotional delight from start to finish, with Shadow the Hedgehog one of the sickest film characters of the year to debut, and Gerald and Ivo stealing every single scene they appeared in. The film also gave us a lot of what I was hoping to see between Shadow's videogame accurate backstory, the results of Jim Carrey's retirement handled (he came out of retirement!), and we kind of got the Chao by way of the Japanese restaurant. SPOILERS ahead for the post credit scene at the end of the film, which also gifted us with the live action debuts of both Metal Sonic and Amy setting up what is sure to be an incredible fourth entry in the series by 2027. This was a big year for the prequel trilogy in Hasbro's Star Wars The Black Series and you'll definitely see that reflected in my ranking of my top 5 favorite Black Series figures of 2024. With 2025 already promising several great releases I'm circling back to 2024 one more time for my favorite releases of the year! (Images Source) 5. Destroyer Droid A long time coming was the Destroyer Droid who came out as a magnificent deluxe release. The sculpting work captured all the mechanical detailing and the coloring on this droid invokes the movie design perfectly. The articulation scheme complements the design well, and it can even transform into a ball like seen in the films! 4. Yord, Sol, Jecki I seem to be amongst the minority who really enjoyed The Acolyte. It was a blast of pure Jedi/Sith action that introduced several new characters into the Star Wars universe who I've been more than excited to add to the collection. Recent years have made big strides in rounding out a lot of long time wishlisted characters and designs for the Black Series line of Star Wars figures by Hasbro. The wait for a Super Battle Droid and Droideka were shockingly long but have finally become a reality, not to mention iconic original trilogy designs like Wicket and the Endor Rebels have been released by the line as well. There will still always be characters the line has to get to though, and with this May 2024 edition of Hasbro's top 5 omissions in the line so far I've thought up characters from across the franchise who have shockingly never been released in the Black Series line when you think of  "which characters have/have not had 6 inch scale toys from Star Wars yet?" 5. The Force Unleashed has been one of the latest games to finally be delved into, with Galen Marek being given a 6 inch action figure that fans of the line have been waiting for. The Force Unleashed games stunned players with a litany of epic Force abilities that truly made you feel like you were playing as the most powerful Force user in the Galaxy, and alongside that were a cool cast of characters with diverse designs that I'd love to see more of in Hasbro's Star Wars Black Series line!   (Image Source) The latest Disney+ Star Wars show has wrapped up and Ahsoka has added another epic chapter to the Disney Star Wars universe. We got what is essentially another season of Rebels, one of the best animated shows from the universe, and it was epic seeing so many of those characters in live action for the first time! Not only that, but we were introduced to plenty of great new characters as well such as Baylan and Shin, and Hasbro's Black Series line has done a fantastic job of really filling out the cast of the series so far! Even still, there are some major characters that Hasbro hasn't touched upon yet, and in this list I'll be counting down my top 5 most wanted figures from the Ahsoka series! 5. (Image 1 Source)   (Image 2 Source) Hasbro is hitting us hard and fast with the Rise of the Beasts products this year, and I'm so excited that we won't have to be waiting years to get decent coverage for the designs and characters in the film like we were stuck doing with the Bumblebee movie (can't believe it wasn't until last year we got most of those Cybertron designs in figure form, the designs people were asking for figures most of). We've gotten a slew of the cast already revealed for the upcoming movie, including Maximals Cheetor and Airazor, along with villains like Battletrap, Freezer, and an epic looking Scourge, not to mention some of the base Autobot cast as well with Bumblebee and Arcee!
