(Image Source) James Gunn made waves in comic book news earlier this year when he debuted the initial line up for his Chapter 1 of the rebooted DCU movie universe that'll be upcoming in the next few years! 10 projects in total were unveiled, five movies and five tv shows, and all of them seeming very promising in giving us a diverse, interconnected DC movie universe that I couldn't be more excited for! There are definitely a few surprises that I wouldn't have guessed to be coming in the line up, especially so early into the universe's incarnation, and starting with the movies from the announcement this is my ranking of my excitement for the five initial films in James Gunn's DCU chapter 1! 5. As Mcfarlane keeps pumping out figures, I've now got eight more examples I want to go over where I compare figures based on designs that Mcfarlane and Mattel have both tried their hands at. The two companies have had such a drastic difference in approaches to making these action figures, and I've had quite a bit of fun looking at the old and holding it up against the new and seeing how they fare against one another. I've been open about saying I think the DC line is in better hands now, but that isn't to say that Mattel's run with the license wasn't without merit and these comparisons give me a chance to look back on what they've done as well. 2021 has come to an end and with it have come the releases for 2021 from all my favorite toylines! One toyline that has been steadily still chugging along has been Mcfarlane's DC Multiverse line which I've been loving! Such a vast array of designs and universes captured in one toyline that's been digging deeper and deeper into the character history of the DC universe even if it is still a predominantly Batman line. 2021 brought a lot of great releases to the line with the Snyder cut figures, Last Knight on Earth, Injustice 2, and lots of others, but here I've boiled it down to my top 5 favorite of the year, with a few honorable mentions to start us off!
