  (Images Source) Pacific Rim is one of my absolute favorites films from the 2010s and one was of the movies that really defined my film tastes as a teenager. NECA put out an impressive spread of designs from the movie, with Diamond Select hammering out a lot of the second film, and now Lingjihun has taken up the torch with some incredibly breathtaking new releases for this movie. Their Crimson Typhoon is perfection, and the subsequent releases like Gypsy Danger and Gypsy Avenger have been very impressive as well, not to mention the insane looking Leatherback as the line's first Kaiju release. There's lots of characters that haven't had figures before, or I'm excited to see Lingjihun tackle, and so this post will count down the figures I want most from Lingjihun's Pacific Rim line! 5. (Image Source) Stop motion animation is something that has been lost in media usage these days with the abundance of CGI; however, this tactic of bringing to life larger than life creatures and designs has such a nostalgic and unique style that it makes me wish  we would see more of it. The recent Primevals was a glorious love letter to this age of film, and there was one master above all else that put stop motion on the map: Ray Harryhausen. His stop motion work produced several iconic films and impressed each time his projects were put to film. With a look back to the classic age of stop motion, these are my top 5 favorite films of Ray Harryhausen that I found most well done and most impressive.  5. When Pacific Rim came out in 2013 I was blown away and while I knew it wasn't a critically great movie it was an absolutely fun time at the movies with a great world built in which giant robots and monsters fought one another. To go along with the movie, Neca took on the figure licensing rights and gave us some really spectacularly sculpted and painted figures based on the Jaegers and Kaiju from the film. While I wasn't as big a fan of the second film I still enjoyed the designs of the robots and the monsters, with Diamond Select this time around taking on the figure rights. Both companies have ceased their lines of figures for the franchise, and after some really great offerings, I'm looking back on my collection and thinking about the top 5 Pacific Rim action figures I wish we got in figure form. Godzilla: King of the Monsters will be here before we know it, with a release date of later this month. It is one of my most anticipated movies of the years, and I've completely immersed myself on non spoiler territory after seeing that initial first teaser. I am a huge Godzilla fan, and finally seeing some of Godzilla's greatest foes in full CGI glory excites me to my very core. I haven't looked into any of the further trailers or news bits about he film, but I have heard one snippet of dialogue that claimed that there were 17 monsters in the film. I'm unsure if they will all be shown, but that got me thinking about what monsters I hope they are, and so here is my list of top 5 Godzilla monsters that I hope to see in the new film. In a recent inquiry to Diamond Select Toys about wave 4 of their Pacific Rim line, I was told they they would be waiting to see how wave 3 did at retail first, then added that preorders are more important now than ever with Toysrus going under. With this response, it seems to me that the fate of the Pacific Rim line rests solely in the performance sales of wave 3, and the amount of preorders it recieves. I believe this also holds true for their first Kaiju releasing in September, Hakuja, and the fate of the Kaiju figures. So I am here to give you some reasons why you should want this line to continue, what could come next if it does, and why you should preorder wave 3 of Diamond Select's Pacific Rim wave 3 and Hakuja. 3. Wave 3 is awesome To state the obvious, wave 3 is plainly a great line up of figures. After five years of waiting, the giant robots are finally back to cancel the apocalypse again, in a movie whose tagline and modo seem to be, "Bigger is better," and as they promised, the spectacle is definitely bigger, but does the overall quality of the movie enjoy a boost as well, or does it fall short of its predecessor? When the first Pacific Rim film released in 2013 I loved it, and as time went on I continued to love it and eagerly awaited the second installment which is finally on the big screen yet again. It has its issues, but it also has its strengths, and I'll get to each one individually.
