The latest and one of the most anticipated Star Wars projects has premiered and wrapped up its stellar first season. Maul: Shadow Lord has proven to be one of the best projects in recent Star Wars history, giving the focus to one of the best characters of the franchise and creating a well crafted story across 10 episodes with some of the most epic lightsaber duels ever. Hasbro's Black Series line of figures launched with four releases to celebrate the show, including some big names like Devon and the deadly Eleventh Brother, but there are plenty more characters I'd like to see before the line moves on.
5. Officer Lawson
One of the those primary characters is Officer Lawson. His design isn't as exciting as many other characters on this list, but his prominence to the story and the well played out side of his story where we saw Janix's police investigation led by him were some of the most thought provoking.
4. Scorn and Icarus
Rook Kast looks to be a great figure and one that will fight right in alongside Maul. His whole crew from the show is one I want to build out, with Zabrak's brothers Scorn and Icarus being an easy two-pack to capitalize on the characters! While they were characters of few words, their presence on the crew brought with it muscle and some of the most badass moments.
3. Two-Boots
While Lawson might not be the most toyetic figure, his partner is one I'm sure even casual fans would be interested in. Two-Boots was a quirky droid who took his nickname after the signature boots that he wore (which the Empire deemed not appropriate for the workplace), and the blue and yellow colors of his design is a mix of colors we really don't have on the Star Wars shelves all that much. Droids are always in demand, and put in a two-pack with Lawson it could even help boost Lawson sales.
2. TK Troopers
Since their debut in the Bad Batch I've been waiting to see when the TK Troopers would come to the Black Series, given how much the line loves their Clone/Storm trooper releases. So color me surprised when years passed with no TK Troopers to be seen. With their reappaearance in the Maul tv show I'm wagering now would be the time to finally bring these proto-Stormtroopers to the line, and including a removal pauldron would be the perfect way to get out both the standard version and the higher authority versions in one easy package.
1. Daki
From the show there's likely no other character more requested than Master Daki. Another survivor of Order 66 whose apprentice becomes the focus of Maul, his likelihood of survival was low and his role in the overall story was one I really enjoyed. Seeing him hesitantly team up with Maul in a bid to escape Janix was a tense alliance that I found compelling, especially their 2 v 1 versus Vader in the finale. The Black Series line has been on fire as of light delivering aliens, Jedi, fan-requested characters which Daki fits the bill on. So if any character from the first season is going to get a figure that hasn't already I would hope it to be Daki!
