Blokees most recent wave of Galaxy Transformers model kits ended up giving me a lot of the figures I have been waiting for, rounding out the Coneheads with Thrust, rounding out the Insecticons with Bombshell, we got a killer Unicron planet mode, as well as Springer (one of my personal favorites), Trypticon to go along with Metroplex, as well as our first G1 female in Arcee! It was no doubt possibly the best wave of figures yet, especially regarding the newly implemented articulation and engineering. With Shining waves giving us Reflector, and the Defenders waves seemingly the place to get Combiners these days, I'm very much looking forward to and hoping that these five characters below will join the ever expanding line!
5. Cyclonus
Thanks to a teaser on the wave 9 boxes we know that Galvatron will be coming in the next wave, seemingly continuing the trend that the recent waves have been very G1 movie based. I am all for that given how cool a lot of the new characters from the new were, including Cyclonus, the imposing, loyal, deadly version of Starscream acting as second in command of the new Decepticons.
4. Blurr
With Springer and Arcee joining the line in the most recent wave, we're getting very close to rounding out the Autobot cast of the movie that was introduced to fans. Blurr was no doubt one of the most entertaining new members of the group, being the fast talking, eccentric member of the team with a nice shade of blue, super speed, and numerous appearances in later continuities proving Blurr's popularity, even if focused around a gimmick.
3. Scourge
While the blind box basis of the Galaxy figures make army building any of the figures difficult (Reflector being the more expensive Shining version still stings), Scourge is one that many fans would no doubt scour to find multiple of, being of the most prominent examples of a legion character in Transformers. His wings give him a sinister silhouette, the beard cuts one of the best facial hairs for Cybertronians, and if Galvatron is coming next wave we certainly need Cylconus and Scourge to flank him.
2. Warpath
While I will many times disparage Shining Waves for their increased price, I will admit that Warpath is a character who could make very good use of the Shining gimmick with the light coming through the tank turret on his chest! The season 1-2 cast of Autobots are an iconic line up that are always welcome, with Mirage being the most recent addition, and Warpath hopefully not far behind.
1. Astrotrain
It has been a minute since the release of Blitzwing in the line, making me wonder how much longer until we finally see his triple changing partner from season 2 added to the line up. Astrotrain has always been one of my absolute favorites designs and characters from the original cartoon, with his booming voice and very fun alternate modes, and if they are focusing on characters from the G1 movie then Astrotrain fits that bill as a character very front and center during the film's initial battle scenes (namely the retreat).
