Top 5 wanted Star Wars Black Series figures for The Mandalorian and Grogu vol 2
The Mandalorian and Grogu has finally premiered and it brought with it a whole second wave of figures to flesh out the cast of the film for Hasbro's 6 inch Black Series line. We've gotten big characters like Embo and Zeb who were missing from the first wave, not to mention army builders like the remnant Snowtroopers and a Mercenary Droid which I was both hoping to see developed into figures in the line! Having seen the film for myself I know there are several more designs that would make for amazing action figures from a film filled to the brim with alien and droid designs!
5. Hugo Durant
Rio was one of my favorite parts of the Solo movie, so seeing another of his species appear it was a ton of fun, now as a food truck chef who serves Mando with information throughout the film. The multitude of arms promises a very fun build for the figure, and another character to flesh out the universe!4. Gatori
While it was certainly one of the slower portions of the film, seeing Grogu care for Mando and instinctually build his own mud hut was eye opening for Yoda doing the same on Dagobah decades earlier. During his time alone on Nal Hutta he became friends with a local fisherman named Gatori, a splendidly designed lizard alien who doesn't get enough screen time in the film but as a dude just living down the street basically from the main headquarters of the Hutt syndicate that alone makes him one of the coolest characters.3. Rotta the Hutt
This is easily the most glaring omission from the cast thus far, and the trailers would have you believe Rotta is a one time beast that Mando fights, and not the emotional focal point of the movie like he ends up being. The slug body of the Hutts being jacked, and seeing it in action doing battle was such a cool new take for the species, and this would make for a true deluxe sized figure in the line, as well as a centerpiece release!2. Mercenary B2 Droid
I got the fact that the Mercenary droid was an army builder by the trailer, but what I didn't notice is that there were so many different designs for the mercenaries based on various droids from the Star Wars franchises! The one that vibed with me most was definitely the beefier Super Battle Droid variant which The Vintage Collection has got as an action figure! The line has been thriving on droids so I hope that the Mercenary B2 will be joining the line up soon for Black Series!
1. The Amani
One of my all time favorite alien designs from the Star Wars franchise was Amanaman from the Return of the Jedi Jabba's Hutt sequences. I remember looking at my dad's action figure magazines advertising the film and seeing Amanaman's original figure on the pages and thinking it looked like such a cool and creepy design, and with the prominant role that the Amani played in multiple action scenes in the new film gives me hope that we could get an 'Amanaman' Black Series figure by way of the Amani getting a figure!
