Top 10 most wanted Mega Construx Alolan Pokemon

Truth is, I've never played Pokemon Sun and Moon. I love Pokemon, but I just haven't gotten to play any of the more recent Pokemon games and so me ranking which Pokemon from that region that I want most in buildable form may be a bit strange. Alola was the second region though that Mega Construx delved into and they're going full steam ahead with their builds, so I thought it was still appropriate to think about which ones from the region I would like to see next, based upon my limited exposure to them and what knowledge I have about them. With that out of the way, that's look at the top 10 Alolan Pokemon I'd like to build.

10. Alolan Dugtrio

Yes, Alolan Dugtrio does look very weird, but it also looks really funny and it was one that caught my eye immediately. Does it look a bit dumb? Maybe, probably, but it is based on a real world concept, a Hawaiian Pele rock that it itself appears to have hair. So the hair is not just a wild idea from the Pokemon intellects, but a clever rendition of a real world item. Does this confirm that Dugrio is made of rock? Who knows, all I know is that I love Diglett and Dugtrio, and giving them hair only made me love them even more. One thing is for sure, the hair is much more majestic than a lot of ours.

9. Drampa

When I was looking through the Alolan Pokedex I saw this Pokemon and "WOAH". This thing looks magical, like a fairy tale creature come to life, and it also bears a resemblance to the Loch Ness Monster in my eyes, which is always a plus for me. Drampa looks wise, he looks like a fatherly grandpa who would help you through your journey, and overall it seems to be one of the only larger sized Alolan Pokemon. The one downside I can see is that it does look, very, very cartoonish, almost like it does not fit in the Pokemon world, and so it lands lower down on the list.

8. Brionne/Primarina

We already have Popplio, who is the cutest of the three in my opinion, and this little pocket monster gets more beautiful as it gets older, almost like a girl growing up from a child, to a teenager, and finally into a woman. It gives a distinct feeling of growth and passage of time, which no doubt would aid in growing more of an attachment to this Pokemon as you battled and leveled up with it. Popplio's evolution looks fun, they have a pleasing color to look at, and I know that if I were to play the Alola games that Popplio would be the one I would choose. The only reason these two do not make it higher up on the list is because they are pretty much guaranteed to be arriving at some point. In fact, Amazon pages (that have since been taken down) that leaked several new sets included a Brionne set, Popplio's evolutions are already on the way!

7. Mareanie

Mawile vibes are strong from this one, only the colors are much more vibrant and appealing to me than its Hoenn lookalike. I exclude its evolution because I'm not quite a fan of how tiny is remains while its protective coverings grow huge, and I much more prefer the proportions of its pre-evolution, Mareanie. This Pokemon is cute despite its semi-sinister appearance, and while I don't know much about it, I know that I would love to have one in the game and that building it and its tendrils would probably be alot of fun.

6. Whimpod/Golisopod

I have always been a fan of fossil Pokemon, and while I am unsure if Whimpod comes from a fossil or not (I don't think so), it bears a strong resemblance to fossil Pokemon that have come before it; namely Anorith. I also love crustacean type Pokemon, and Pokemon that look cool overall, and Whimpod and his evolution Golisopod fit all of these criteria. I have heard a lot of backlash against Whimpod for its "whimpy" appearance but I think it looks cool, and his legs are very cute when it runs. Golisopod is only capable of being awesome, and looks like a massive samurai warrior of some type with its armor. The two of these Pokemon have very distinct features, one being whimpy and the other being fierce, but they both look very interesting to me and would be great fun to have a set of.

5. Morelull/Shiinotic

Nature is my favorite part about earth, and the only thing that I love more than a good looking water Pokemon is a crazy looking grass Pokemon. Morelull and its evolution Shiinotic fit the bill on that part. These Pokemon look creepy, very ominous and at the same time I love them for it. Morelull looks very cute, very simple and as a Mega Construx build it would probably take less than two minutes to put together, but the mushrooms, the little eyes, and the tiny legs just make me want this Pokemon. Shiinotic is more of a bigger Pokemon and would accomplish being a bigger build, though balancing that mushroom could be a fit of a problem. Its eyes and mouth do look very eerie and empty, but that is part of the Pokemon's design and helps it stand out from the rest. The world isn't only full of cute and cuddly Pokemon, but there are a fair share of creepy ones too that aren't ghost type. Would I be unnerved by Shiinotic in real life? Yes, for sure, but as a buildable Pokemon on my desk, not one bit, and it would be a delight putting these two together.

4. Dewpider/Araquanid

I have always been a fan of the spider Pokemon and thought that they all had fairly good designs in the grand scheme of the games, and when Alola came we got our first water type spider Pokemon and they look very cool. These two Pokemon look eerie, but at the same time very cute and I love that they appear to have bubbles of water around their heads and along their limbs. They also kind of have the appearance of water floats in my mind, and this blend of insects and water appeals a lot to me.

3. Marshadow

When I saw the most recent Pokemon movie, "Pokemon: I choose you", I was surprised to find that Pokemon outside of Kanto were present, and that included Marshadow who ended up playing a major role in the film. The movie came out great in my opinion, and Marshadow's presence was one of the highlights. He was cute, but at the same time fierce and his role in everything was a massive plus for the movie. His wisps of smoke would be a great integration for the mega construx build, and his plain, wide eyes would make for a very great print on the character's build.

2. Lunala

Bats are one of my absolute favorite animals on earth, and so having a legendary creature be based off of this creature stuck out to me immediately, as well as its focus on the night. I don't know anything about Lunala besides its design, so I can't say much about this creature; however, I can say that I think it looks like a mighty beast and would be a set that I would no doubt have a blast putting together. It would be a larger set on par with Dragonite I believe, and by the time it comes out hopefully I will have gotten to play these games and have a deeper connection to this Pokemon.

1. Alolan Exeggutor

You can bet that as soon as I saw the Alolan form of Exeggutor I was hooked. This thing was insane and a laughing riot, and called back to earlier games when it was said that this Pokemon could extend its neck. Exeggutor is the perfect Alolan Pokemon in my mind, and its wackiness is a massive plus as well. Exeggutor itself is a Pokemon that I have been waiting to get made in a set, and to have the Alolan version would make that set even more sweeter. I know that this Pokemon isn't the most fierce or strongest of the Alolan Pokemon, and is more of a joke, but I love it all the same, and wish to see it soon in brick form.

And that is my list for the Alolan Pokemon Mega Construx sets I would like to see. Having never played the game, it was tougher than usual for me to give real explanations for why the Pokemon made the list; it was based for the most part on what they looked like unlike in other regions that I had played. Despite this, I still enjoyed looking into all the Alolan Pokemon and picking out the ones that I would want most.
