Top 10 most wanted Halo Mattel action figures
Out of all of the videogames franchises out there, Halo is among my absolute favorites. While it can be seen as just another first person shooter game, I admire it for its deep lore, characters, and storylines that have played out through seven main series games. The adventures of Master Chief and the side stories involving Six and Rookie have been a delight to play, and so when I found out that Mattel had started a new six inch line of Halo figures I was beyond excited. I never quite got into the Mcfarlane figures, though everyone seems to say they are better than Mattel, but it's mostly because I had already missed so many characters and figures. I find some appeal in a new line that is devoted to starting over from scratch and doing all the figures from the game series. With two waves already released, and the third leaked and on the way, let's dive into the figures I want to see going forward!
(Spoiler warning for the games)
10. Wetwork armor
Halo 5 multiplayer armors seem to be a big part of the new line, with four present in the first two waves, and two more coming in the third. Out of all the multiplayer armors I've seen, there isn't one that has caught my eye more than the Wetwork armor. I love the helmet and the red line that runs down the middle of it, seemingly replacing an actual visor, and it would be a welcome addition to the lineup of multiplayer spartan skins already present. There isn't a whole lot to say about it aside from it looking cool, but in a line where multiplayer armors seen to be a mainstay, it makes sense to list the one I want most.

9. Honor guard elite
Following in line with the presence of multiplayer armors, Elites are another part of the Mattel line with their different ranks. Wave 1 saw the release of two different Elites, the Arbiter popped up in wave 2, and a fourth will be coming in wave three, so it is a sure bet to say that more variations of the Elite will be coming soon. Out of all of the possible Elite tiers in the games, the Elite Honor Guard is the most obvious choice for another Elite figure. These troops were plain awesome in the game; outfitted with sleek red armor with yellow flares, not to mention the vicious spear that they carried with them. These troops looked cool and meant business, and having them would be awesome.

8. Promethean Knight
Prometheans have already made their way into the line, with the Alpha Crawler and Crawler Snipe being the build-able figures for wave 1, and a Promethean Soldier being released in wave 3, so the line is no stranger to making Promethean antagonists at this point. This one may be more of a stretch for the Mattel line, as deluxe figures haven't made an appearance yet aside from the Ghost vehicle which didn't preform too strongly at retail. Nevertheless, I am hoping that one day a Promethean Knight figure will be released, and the recent stronger sales of wave 2 could point to Mattel putting more faith into the line. This troops were big, bulky, and would make great figures.

7. Hunter
Along with the previously mentioned Promethean Knight, a Hunter would undoubtedly be a deluxe sized figure. From the beginning, Hunters have been a part of the Halo franchise and a bane to many players as they are nearly impossible to take down from the front. They have always looked cool though, with sleek armor, a wicked cannon, and the slimy congestion of worms that constitute their actual bodies that can be seen between armor plates. The wormy skin itself would be amazing in plastic form, and if the Hunter were to be given removable armor to uncover more of the slimy mess I may just faint.

6. Jackal
By wave two, the Halo figures will have an Elite, a Brute, and a Grunt on the shelf, and the most logical next step towards filling out the Covenant army would be the make a Jackal. Whether or not it would be the build-able figure for the wave such as the Grunt was is unknown at the moment (We still do not know the build-able figure for wave 3), but any way they can get this alien faction out I will be happy with. Jackal's are skinny, rat-like aliens with energy shields that would make for great accessories. And in a toyline where there are roughly 17 Spartans and only 7 or so aliens by wave 3, a Jackal's presence would be greatly appreciated.

5. Cortana
She is the secondary protagonist of the first four games, a key role in Halo: Reach, and the newly made antagonist for Halo 5, making her one of the most important characters across the entire Halo franchise. Mattel's line has proven it isn't shy about doing female figures, and there is no female more deserving of a figure than Cortana. Casting her in a blue plastic would look incredible if done right, and thanks to her more armored look in Halo 5 the Mattel team could feasibly do their removable armor gimmick with her figure too. Posing Master Chief with Blue Team is nice, but alongside his true partner would be infinitely better.

4. Flood Warrior
When I was a child there was one level of the original Halo game that I played over and over again, and that was the level in which you first discover the Flood. I am not the biggest fan when it comes to zombies, but for some reason Halo's rendition of the parasite lifeforms appeal to me. They are creepy and touted as the worst danger that could ever befall the Halo universe. I would take any version of the Flood soldiers, just so long as I don't have to wait long to get one. It would make the release of this figure even better if they included a Flood Spore as an accessory.

3. Drone
Insects aren't my favorite thing to be in the same room as, but when it comes to general media I adore things where giant insects are present. So when playing through Halo 2 when we were first introduced to the Drones I was excited, excited to see an alien race based upon flying insects that were now a part of the Covenant's rank. They were never hard to kill, but they always came in waves and their actual existence as "Drones" was a concept I found interesting when put together with their obedience to the Covenant army. Multiple appendages, these bugs would make great figures, and further fill out the Covenant ranks.

2. Noble Team
Yes, technically this is six different figures but if I split them up then 6/10 of these slots would be filled up with Noble Team members. I love this team, I love the individuals characters, and I especially love the sacrifices they make throughout the game in order to see the mission through to the end. Kat, Jorge, Emile, Six, Carter, and Jun are six of my favorite Halo characters, and Halo: Reach is my favorite of the franchise. I doubt all six would be done in one wave and would end up being separated throughout a couple, but as long as these six are put together on my shelf I will be happy.

1. Tartarus
Number one of my list is a character that I was honestly surprised received as much depth as he did, and arguably resides as the primary antagonist of Halo 2 over the Prophet of Truth. Tartarus' desire to see the Brutes recognized as noble and treated with respect rather than as mindless apes was actively touching, and fueled his ignorance to Arbiter's warnings of what the "Great Journey" truly was. Not only was Tartarus' story one that stuck with me, but he looks awesome too, wielding one of the most powerful weapons you can obtain in the Halo 5 multiplayer, and rocking a striking white mohawk. To this day, Tartarus is one of if not my outright favorite character in the Halo franchise, and with Atriox already made, the Brute template is there to bring this ape to life.

It was a painfully long wait for the release of wave 2 of Mattel's toyline, but now that it has finally reached collectors and the third wave's lineup already leaking out, I hope that this toyline gets going once against and continues to bring us new and old characters alike.
