Ranking my excitement for all 5 films announced for James Gunn's DCU

James Gunn made waves in comic book news earlier this year when he debuted the initial line up for his Chapter 1 of the rebooted DCU movie universe that'll be upcoming in the next few years! 10 projects in total were unveiled, five movies and five tv shows, and all of them seeming very promising in giving us a diverse, interconnected DC movie universe that I couldn't be more excited for! There are definitely a few surprises that I wouldn't have guessed to be coming in the line up, especially so early into the universe's incarnation, and starting with the movies from the announcement this is my ranking of my excitement for the five initial films in James Gunn's DCU chapter 1!



5. Superman: Legacy

I am a huge Superman fan and cannot wait to see another film for one of the world's greatest superheroes on the big screen again! I'm among the population who were disappointed to hear that Henry Cavill would not be returning to the role; however, that isn't making me hate the new universe like some fans but instead I'm optimistic for whatever the future brings. We don't really know anything about this new incarnation of Superman quite yet, including possible story and villain, but I can't wait to see what it brings.



4. The Brave and the Bold

Not only are we getting a new Batman film, but we are getting the introduction of Damien Wayne's Robin! I cannot wait to see this character dynamic brought into the film universe, and most likely with a much more comic accurate depiction of the Robin character than the classic Batman Forever brought us. Just like the Superman movie there are scarcely any other details out there to nimble on for now; however, Gunn has confirmed that we will see other Bat family characters in the movie as well as a live action depiction of the full Bat family is a concept to make any comic nut drool!



3. Swamp Thing

I'm among the group of fans who were beyond sad to see the DC Universe Swamp Thing tv show cancelled with an abridged season 1, ending on a cliffhanger no less! Seeing Swamp Thing as one of the central movie figures in this initial movie line up is going to be awesome, especially with it enacting its own horror tone according to Gunn, being based off the epic Alan Moore comic run, and recently being announced to be helmed by director James Mangold who brought us Logan, one of my favorite X-Men films! It sounds like it will be a very unique ride, and one I'm all in for.



2. The Authority

This was certainly one of the biggest surprises for me when I saw the reveal video for the projects, and just thinking about getting a live action Midnighter and the rest of the Authority makes me stutter in disbelief at the wide berth of content and characters we're getting! This diverse selection of A list characters like Batman and Superman compared to fairly more obscure choices like the freaking Authority is another massive reason I'm very excited for Gunn's plans for the universe! 



1. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow

When I saw that they announced a Supergirl movie I thought that was cool, and neat that they were basing it off a specific comic run that had come out fairly recently. Tom King is one of my favorite comic book writers as of late, so I decided to check out Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow for myself and wow, the Supergirl movie is going to be epic if it truly is going to follow the comic like announced! This comic has been constantly selling out since Gunn announced it as the basis for the upcoming movie (similar to other DC comics hitting number 1 sellers' lists due to the announcements) and I'm excited that others are getting to experience this stellar storyline as well! And even though we're going to have to wait a few years to see this movie come to fruition, I doubt my excitement will wane one bit to see Tom King's epic realized in a live action movie!

Top 5 most wanted NECA Back to the Future figures

NECA gave us a huge surprise this year with the reveal of a full range of action figures for the Back to the Future franchise! This is definitely one of the most popular franchises out there and I didn't know that I needed action figures for it until now! So far we've had a couple of reveals in the form of Marty from the first movie, Marty in the second movie, Marty in his spaceman costume, and then Biff from the first movie. Top 5 most wanted Jakks Pacific Sonic Badniks vol 2

(Images Source) We have been getting more and more robotic Badniks in Jakks Pacific's line of Sonic figures which is very exciting! Primary characters are great, but getting more of the background designs to fill out the scenes is awesome and we've recently got some Badniks I was eagerly waiting for like the Burrobot, Newtron, and most recently the Caterkiller!! Eggman's army is packed to the brim though with all kinds of robotic enemies, and these are five more I hope to eventually see! 5. Jaws The Chopper is not the most posable of the Badniks that we've gotten so far (not that many are very posable to begin with), but it is such a classic design from the series and another underwater enemy would be the Jaws. With Jakks Pacific steadily working through giving us little playsets themed around different levels, a set themed around the underwater sequences would be the perfect way to get this guy into the line. 4.
