I recently talked about the figures I wanted most from New 52's Superman run when it comes to Mcfarlane's DC Multiverse line of figures, now I'm circling back to take a look at the New 52's Action Comics run. Reading it alongside the Superman series was a lot of fun, and just like the Superman series it had a lot of great characters and designs that would translate awesomely to figure form! Flash's Rebirth series of comics is certainly one of my favorite DC comic series of all time. I love the tone of the series, the title character and the villains he fights, not to mention some truly incredible storylines! Mcfarlane has already dipped his toes into this series with the Rebirth based Flash figure, but I'm wanting more, and with Flash and his series being one of the most popular from DC comics, I'm hoping the wait for more won't be long! A really interesting line I've been seeing around is the BST AXN line by the Loyal Subjects, a company I'd never heard of before, but this line is really sticking out to me for its ability to seemingly do figures of anything. There is such a random assortment of real life figures, tv show, and movie characters in the waves that have been released so far and I love it. Big franchises like Lord of the Rings and Naruto are obvious for figure treatments, but others like Napoleon Dynamite and the old Beetlejuice cartoon are such surprises and I cannot wait to see what the line does next! While the figures may not be as high end as other companies, it is still a really fun line, and these are the top 10 figures I hope to see come from this melting pot of a line! Star Wars the Black Series seems to finally be truly delving into one of the greatest pieces of Star Wars media with the Clone Wars animated series! For many this is their Star Wars they grew up with, and helped to really flesh out a lot of aspects the prequel movies couldn't touch upon in their limited runtime. Amazing characters and storylines came from this series, with some seeping into the live action universe as well with Ahsoka appearing in Mandalorian, and Darth Maul appearing in Solo after his surprise return in this show. Season 1 is where it all started, and based on my most wanted list for this first season from before, we're getting Anakin and Obi Wan in their Clone Wars armor finally, and Cad Bane and Asajj have already been released in the line at this point! So I'm circling back around to the season that started it all, and the figures I want most from that first offering of figures! One of my favorite runs in the New 52 era of DC Comics was the Earth 2 series. The reimagining of the Justice Society was one of the largest departures from what we were used to, and the fact that the first issue of the comic began with the deaths of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman repelling an Apokalips invasion truly set the grim scale and stakes that would make the comic series great. This was a world where death mattered, where what happened had consequences and nothing would just go back to how they were beforehand. That was so refreshing as the comic book world usually has a tendency to put everything back to the status quo, making Earth 2 one of the most shocking and thrilling comic series I've ever read. I've fallen in love with this series, and I truly hope that Mcfarlane one day produces at least a few figures based on it!
