Top 5 most wanted Mcfarlane DC Multiverse New 52 Earth 2 figures
One of my favorite runs in the New 52 era of DC Comics was the Earth 2 series. The reimagining of the Justice Society was one of the largest departures from what we were used to, and the fact that the first issue of the comic began with the deaths of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman repelling an Apokalips invasion truly set the grim scale and stakes that would make the comic series great. This was a world where death mattered, where what happened had consequences and nothing would just go back to how they were beforehand. That was so refreshing as the comic book world usually has a tendency to put everything back to the status quo, making Earth 2 one of the most shocking and thrilling comic series I've ever read. I've fallen in love with this series, and I truly hope that Mcfarlane one day produces at least a few figures based on it! With that hope, here is my top 5 most wanted New 52 Earth 2 DC Multiverse figures.

The reveal that Brutaal was actually Superman, coming directly after he severed Steppenwolf in half, was one of the most shocking moments in the entire series. From there, everything seemed to kick into high gear and nothing would be the same. The Apokalips war had begun anew, and Superman was at the head of it leading the slaughter. This red and blue suited Superman would be awesome to get in figure form, and Mcfarlane has shown us he loves doing evil versions of characters.
It seems like I've been mentioning a lot how Lois Lane's usual civilians designs don't work to make exciting action figures, but recent comics have been giving us so many great alternate options and the Red Tornado guise from Earth 2 is probably my favorite choice for a Lois Lane action figure. Her death prior to the series' start is something eerie to have talked about, and her eventual return as Red Tornado was a great twist that I loved to see progress as she became one of the core members of the world's defenders.
This character has been getting a lot of chatter recently with talks that Warner Bros is planning on doing a Superman movie featuring an African American Superman. If a movie included Val Zod, I would prefer they do the Earth 2 storyline to go along with him, though I do appreciate the buzz around the character at the moment. Val Zod was another great twist in the series, and a pacifist, agoraphobic Superman was a really interesting characterization for him. The white and blue design of his suit is such a great contrast to Apokalips' red and black colors for Superman, and Val Zod is one of the best stand outs of the series.
One of the core trio of the Earth 2 series was Jay Garrick; however, this was a very different version than we have known before. Young, inexperienced, and feeling out of his league, Jay played the part of the audience in many parts needing things to be explained, or feeling the weight of the situation being too much for him. It made him relatable, interesting to read, and from an action figure stand point speedsters always make great figures!
After reading the series I was enamored by the character of The Atom, and he fast became my favorite character in the series. His ability to grow massive, his stone cold demeanor and alliance to what he believed was the greater good were attributes I loved about his character. His design was one I really liked as well, with the gray camo and darker colors pairing greatly with the red and yellow symbol on his chest. He would be perfect as a build a figure for an Earth 2 wave, or a stand alone mega figure in the deluxe scale. Either way, I would truly love to get a figure of this great character who had some of the most tragic moments during the Apokalips war.
