Top 5 most wanted Transformers Studio Series Decepticons vol 4
The Decepticons of Studio Series are reigning supreme as of late. Hatchet is finally coming to the line, the G1 Constructicons are headlining Studio Series in 2025, not to mention my other most wanted Decepticons like the G1 Insecticon team and The Fallen have all been pumped out as well. With my most wanted list nearly completely flushed out I have a new set of characters and designs I want to see adapted into figure form from across the movies and videogames that Hasbro's Transformers Studio Series line covers!
Honorable Mention: WFC Brawl
Brawl was always one of my favorite characters to play as in the first game of High Moon's Transformers franchise; however, with the line strictly sticking to War for Cybertron at this time and not delving into Fall of Cybertron where Brawl was a combiner part of Bruticus I'm not sure what direction this will head. Will he get a Brawl that has no combination with anyone else? Will they not approach Brawl until Fall of Cybertron enters the line? The uncertainty is holding Brawl back at an honorable mention for now.5. Devcon and Junkheap
Lately we have seen some of my long time wants come to the Studio Series such as Hatchet, Que, and the G1 Constructicons! While all of those all had a pretty reasonable shot at being made in the line I now have my sights even more set on two very cool Transformers from the Bayverse who would make for stand out action figures. Devcon from Dark of the Moon and Junkheap from Age of Extinction are no two strangers to my blog as I've talked about them both multiple times before, and I'm still hoping that these obscure bots will one day make their way to the line. With Commander class now a thing in Studio Series and the applicants for that slot seemingly running low I think Devcon in the Commander class slot would be a dream come true, and rumor has it years ago they even considered Devcon at the leader price point but couldn't fudge it! With all the recent buzz that has been going around with Combiners in the Transformers lines and the growing focus that Age of Extinction has gotten in the past couple years it would make sense for Junkheap to finally get its due for a proper action figure. Multiple releases could work (though it may be odd getting figures that transform into *parts* of a garbage truck each), but they would be another contender for the Commander class price point especially with the upcoming Long Haul and Hook setting precedent for Commander class to be multi-packs at times.4. WFC Thunder Cracker
With the recent reveal of Skywarp in the WFC line we are now simply awaiting Thundercracker, a switch up from the recent norm of receiving Thundercracker before his purple ally (War for Cybertron, Bumblebee movie). This trio of Seekers is probably my favorite depiction of these three of Transformers media for each of the distinct personalities the three carried with them, with Thundercracker being a brainy type. The light blue of his videogame coloration is one I'm excited to see put to the WFC Starscream mold, and Hasbro may have tipped their hand that this one is one the way as the reveal of Skywarp was accompanied by their claim that it finished off that team of Seekers. Perhaps they forgot that Thundercracker has not quite been revealed!3. WFC Soundwave
This is a figure I really wouldn't mind being put into the leader class price point if that means that we can get his minions from the game packed in alongside him similar to the recent leader class G1 Soundwave (which finally included an updated Buzzsaw). Soundwave is always going to be a fan favorite and that stood true still for this awesome videogame iteration, featuring a very G1 inspired design and voice acting, and out of his minions Laserbeak especially is one I want to see updated for the in-game easter eggs of hunting him down each mission.2. TF: One Starscream
Jumping to Transformers: One, the latest film in the Transformers universe and latest addition to the Studio Series banner, the primary cast have all pretty much been checked off with now the secondary cast becoming the next obvious focus for the line. Steve Buscemi's work as Starscream was a lot of fun and fit the character well, and I hope to see more of him in future sequels. The Starscream design in the movie is one that calls back to the G1 design of the character very well, and would be a new Seeker mold to be milked for all the repaints it's worth.1. TF: One Airachnid
While not officially a "Decepticon" in the newest Transformers film Airachnid was one of the principle villains and one with a wicked design. Her slender nature, multiple appendages, and unique helicopter alternate form would all come together for a very cool action figure that would go well alongside the upcoming Sentinel Prime! All her thin appendages could easily be used to make the rotors of the helicopter while her body would become the main bulk of the vehicle, meaning the transformation wouldn't be as hard to full off as it may initially seem.
