Top 5 wanted Justice Society characters in Mcfarlane's DC Multiverse vol 2
A Rebirth era Cyborg has been released and it seems that with the official general line up of a modern Justice League being completed the flood gates have opened for the Justice Society which I am more than thrilled about! We had gotten central figures before like Alan Scott, Jay Garrick, and The Spectre, but recent years and very recent reveals have given us more iconic members of this team like a classic Hawman, Mr. Terrific, Wildcat, and Commander Steel (though I'm utilizing him as the Citizen Steel version). Not only that, but Huntress and Power Girl both make nice additions to the JSA display, as well as to the New 52 Earth 2 display along with Val Zod. With the Justice Society more and more present in the line this is my updated wishlist from America's first superhero team!
Honorable Mention: Superman (Kingdom Come)
Coming in at an honorable mention will be Kingdom Come Superman who was a temporary but memorable member of the team during the 2007 series. I loved the crossover into the Kingdom Come universe when this Superman appeared in the comic and the storyline that followed. I've been hoping for this version of Superman for years now and am frankly shocked we haven't gotten such an iconic design in the line, especially with the accompanying Batman checked off. The more recent Earth 2 Superman body mold would be perfect for this release I think, and is a mold we haven't seen much re-use from yet!5. Dr. Midnite
We've gotten Flash, Green Lantern, Wildcat, Hawkman...another core member of the team not represented in some way is Dr. Midnite. My biggest exposure to this character in the comes is the Pieter version from modern JSA comics, and so I gravitate towards that version of the character; however, Charles is another great interpretation and overall I'm finding myself hoping more and more for a Dr. Midnite with how the line is going.4. Starman
A character who has had multiple characters use the name with different design would be Starman, with my main two wants being either Ted Knight, the original Starman, or Thom from the 2007 Justice Society of America series. Both would be really easy repaint figures Mcfarlane could do given that neither have very complicated designs, though the starry night look of Starboy's costume would be very cool is emulated correctly in figure form. With one we'd be adding to the classic shelf and the other would be adding to the modern shelf (and the recently started Legion of Superheroes), and I'd be okay with either.3. Damage
Just like Citizen Steel and Starboy, Damage was a modern day addition that really felt like a core member of the team once he was debuted. His struggle with his deformed appearance and later on his drive to connect with Judomaster were nice storylines to see him go through, along with his death and return through Blackest Night giving this character plenty of development to chew through. The 2007 run is my favorite run of the Justice Society, and this character would add to that awesome line up.2. Hourman
I'd go for either version of Hourman between Rex and Rick, though Rick would add nicely to the modern day Justice Society team whose comics I had a blast reading through and really made me a fan of the team. The recent cloth goods would be perfect for this character especially with a posable wire inserted into the hood similar to what we've recently seen with Ragman. That or making the hood a separate plastic piece ala Darth Sidious from the Black Series. Mcfarlane could even surprise us with either Rick's Infinity Inc design or the robot from "JSA" and any version of Hourman they put out I would buy.1. Stargirl
Still taking the top spot is Stargirl, one of my all time favorite comic book characters and one who I love has become such an integral member of the Justice Society line up. Her recent comic was a lot of fun and a great return title for her, and the 12th issue of the latest Justice Society comic was a nice celebration of Courtney Whitmore through the years. The presence of female characters in the DC Multiverse line seems to be growing lately, and hopefully that bodes well for Stargirl to get her first figure in the line.
