Top 5 most wanted updated G1 Transformers figures vol 6
With Powerglide, Outback, and Seapray amongst others now introduced into the modern day collecting era of Transformers, we're inching closer and closer to the fully fleshed out cast of the original G1 series. We're needling it down to some of the tertiary characters, but even they need figure support, and with 2026 well under way these are my top five most wanted G1 Transformers figures to this point.
5. Tailgate
I will admit I really don't remember Tailgate at all, though that owes to his very scant appearances in the later portions of the show. Nonetheless, when talking about figues that still need to be made from the G1 series he is one that stands out as the final minibot needed to complete that iconic roster. With Swerve coming in hot (in a very red painted wave of figures) the stage is now set for Tailgate to follow suit, wrapping up the deluxe classed minibots fans have been eating up since Cliffjumper's release in WFC.4. Broadside
Designer interviews have gone back and forth a few times about how exactly they'd like to approach Broadside, whether he be a titan or a commander, or even a leader class like previous releases. However they approach him, I hope it is better handled than the recent Studio Series Astrotrain release (obligatory shade had to be thrown). Another later season character, he will fill in the ranks of the Autobot triple changers and join Tidal Wave as the very few and far between aircraft carriers.3. Octane
I am honestly surprised we have not received this character yet, especially with the release of Sandstorm quite a bit ago. Their episode was one of the more standout adventures of the final seasons, and Octane himself has a relatively large fan following. While not as popular as other G1 Decepticon triple changers, Octane still has the makings for an awesome figure with both of his transformations, and design in robot form.2. Defensor
The large influx of combiners as of late makes Defensor seem like an inevitability. With Devastator, Superion, Menasor, and Bruticus all rounded out the next logical step would be Defensor to finish out the seasons 1-2 Combiner teams. This would be an exciting release for the point of also having a very diverse assortment of combining team members, with a vast amount of alt modes achieved amongst them, ultimately giving new tooling for possible retools of new characters with those alt modes down the line!1. Sixshot
This guy has been on my mind since the Commander class was conceived back in the day of WFC Jetfire. Easily one of the most popular characters from the final season of the show, Sixshot pushed the ticket with six alternate forms in total, and not only would the engineering needs warrant the commander price point, but in the picture above we can clearly see how Sixshot towers above Cyclonus who himself in a large voyager class.
