A new Star Wars movie is nearly upon us and I for one am very exciting for the toy rollout for the movie and seeing it if gets the same amount of fanfare and backing that a lot of previous Star Wars movies have gotten from Hasbro! I remember the waves upon waves of new movie figures for films like Last Jedi and Solo, seeing new characters and designs put out with the hype surrounding the release, and so far we've gotten one wave of Mandalorian and Grogu figures with a couple of exclusives and hopefully lots more around the corner! With the release of the film still impending we don't have a full knowledge about the roster of the movie or even clear looks at a lot of the characters and designs in it, but from what we know and what has already been released these are the top figures I want from the new movie!
5. Zeb
A very popular character and one fans waited forever for in the Black Series, and now we have a chance at getting another Zeb in the line thanks to this new movie and his role in it! While we don't know exactly how much screen time he will get, he is still a massive fan favorite making the jump from animation to a big screen theatrical movie so he would fit very well as a deluxe release for the movie.
4. Rotta
We have not gotten any Hutt figures since the original Jabba. No updated Jabba, no Ziro, but with Rotta's evident importance to the movie and the plot I think it would be remiss of Hasbro not to capitalize on the scariest looking Hutt we've ever seen! The jacked arms and literal abs are such a departure from the sedentary looks we are used to with Hutts, and Rotta so far is one of the parts of the movie I'm most excited to see more of!
3. Imperial Remnant Snowtrooper
The first batch of figures were almost exclusively Imperial Remnant troopers, but one notable absence was the Snowtrooper. He has already received a Vintage Collection release, as seen above, but Black Series is where I dwell and he would be a great next step to rounding out the remnant forces! While writing this I only just realized that the funky face mask is actually whats under the usual Imperial Snowtroopers cloth masks, meaning we're finally getting a look at what the real Snowtrooper masks look like!
2. Mercenary Guard Droid
From the trailer I think I saw a glimpse of a whole fleet of these droids, but even if it is just one in the movie I think the design is striking enough to warrant a Black Series action figure. This droid has even managed to receive both a Pop and the Actionverse figure above so it must have some semblance of relevance in the movie. The limbs look somewhat beefy so it'll hopefully avoid the pitfalls of the Magna-Guard and similar designs that are too frail to stand themselves up.
1. Embo
One of the first rumors we had swirling for this movie that has since been confirmed was the inclusion of Embo from Clone Wars. He was always one of those animated characters that seemed collectively loved even if his impact in the series itself wasn't that grand, and seeing him make the jump to the big screen is awesome and will make him even more of a fan favorite I'm sure! I wouldn't mind a deluxe release to include his dog with him, but even if we just get Embo on his own it will easily be one of the most exciting releases for the movie and likely one of the most sought after as well!
