Top 5 Pacific Rim action figures I wish we got
When Pacific Rim came out in 2013 I was blown away and while I knew it wasn't a critically great movie it was an absolutely fun time at the movies with a great world built in which giant robots and monsters fought one another. To go along with the movie, Neca took on the figure licensing rights and gave us some really spectacularly sculpted and painted figures based on the Jaegers and Kaiju from the film. While I wasn't as big a fan of the second film I still enjoyed the designs of the robots and the monsters, with Diamond Select this time around taking on the figure rights. Both companies have ceased their lines of figures for the franchise, and after some really great offerings, I'm looking back on my collection and thinking about the top 5 Pacific Rim action figures I wish we got in figure form. Truthfully we were very close to completely 100% of the on screen cast of robots and kaiju, but these are my top 5 that didn't quite make it.

5. Raijin
This is going to be the only slot on this list from the second movie, and another thing you will find out really quick is that the list is going to be made up completely of Kaiju since the Jaegers have actually in fact basically been completely finished in terms of plastic fulfillment. Raijin was one of the three Kaiju who attacked in the end of the second movie, able to close up its face into a massive shield that absorbed kinetic energy and funneled it through its own body for its own use.

4. Slattern
The first category five to ever emerge from the breach was this monstrous beast that culminated the climax of the first film. Slattern had a huge, hammerhead-like head with a slew of spiked tentacles emerging from the bottom of its body. This would have no doubt been the biggest figure from the first movie and absolutely dwarfed everything that we actually received. The incredible nature of Otachi's tail in figure form would no doubt have been a good indication of what we would have gotten with Slattern's several times over.

3. Karloff
Seen briefly during the opening sequence of the first movie's opening narration. We catch only a short glimpse of Karloff lurking in the dust and smog of the destruction it is wreaking, and the spindly, square headed design of the creature immediately called out to me as a figure I wanted to have in my kaiju collection. We got Hardship and Trespasser which were a nice foray into the realm of the opening sequence kaiju, and Karloff would have been a cool addition as well.

2. Raiju
Scunner was the only kaiju from the climax of the first film that we actually got in figure form, and the other one aside from Slattern that we missed out on getting was Raiju. This crocodile-like monster got some really great moments swimming through the murky depths, too fast to be picked up by the scanners, and ripping apart Gypsy Danger's limbs in the process. The secondary, pink head beneath the larger, imposing pair of jaws would have been a really cool play feature for the potential figure.

1. Onibaba
Out of all the kaiju from the first film, Onibaba may even be my favorite of them all. That makes it even harder for it to be one of the ones that Neca and Diamond Select did not make. I really adored the crab inspired design that went into this creature, and its collection of appendages as well as the crustacean headsculpt and two long prongs coming from its back would have come together for a great action figure representation of what we saw in the movie. Alas, just like the others on this list, their chance seems to have come and gone.
