There's something about Mcfarlane's approach to Build-A waves that I really enjoy. The smaller character count of the waves is appealing, making it so you don't have to buy so many figures in order to build the collectible figure, which in some cases larger waves make you buy figures you may not want. He also makes sure that every figure in the wave directly relates and originates from whatever story he is adapting into figure form! Death Metal, The Suicide Squad, The Dark Knight Returns, even the Futures End wave while not being strictly Futures End involved only Batman Beyond related characters. I really like this approach, and with that, these are my top 5 most wanted waves of figures in the line! This is a post that just occurred to me to write, and I'm so excited to because it is something that I've been thinking about ever since Mcfarlane's ownership of the DC comics line of action figures started! Mattel had the license for years and gave us countless figures, many of which I've been looking at with scrutiny as action figure designing has advanced and Mcfarlane's DC Multiverse line has been one I've greatly enjoyed for these first two years. Already they've redone some of the figures that Mattel tackled during their years with the line, and taking a look at those specific figures I want to compare Mattel's DC figures vs Mcfarlane's! While getting slow for a little bit, and completely throwing fans for a loop with all of the Target exclusive Cobra island sets, Hasbro's 6 inch GI Joe classified series came back in a big way and delivered a lot of greatness for the line in the recent Hasbropulsecon! A very classic looking Storm Shadow, an awesome Croc Master deluxe pack, equally impressive BATs and Spirit, along with a later reveal of the Alley Viper we've been seeing on the line's packaging from the beginning! Along with the already released Flint and Zartan a lot of my previous most wanted figures have been fulfilled, and going forward this is my part 3 of which Joes or Cobras I'd like to see enter the 6 inch realm next! One of the most fun comic series that I've read in a long time has been the 2019-2021 Batman/Superman series by DC comics! It was nothing world shattering in scale, no huge crossovers, nothing really essential to the DC universe in terms of reading (although that end teaser was very interesting), but it was just pure fun with wildly different storylines every few issues that kept me enthralled! It was a great way to showcase random villains of DC's picking, and the friendship between the title characters is always entertaining to read! So with Mcfarlane having already dipped his toes into this series a little bit (Infected Superman and King Shazam), these five figures are my next most wanted going forward! Return of the Jedi has been getting a lot of attention and focus from the Star Wars Black Series line by Hasbro as of lately. Whenever we aren't getting something from Mandalorian, Clone Wars, or Bad Batch it seems to be almost always something from the sixth movie in the franchise! We got all of the core trio in their Endor ponchos and outfits, General Calrissian, and finally Bib Fortuna as well! Not to mention the freaking Rancor is joining the line as the Black Series' first Haslab project! With that I'm sure that we'll be getting lots more characters from the final film in the original trilogy, and with most of my previous most wanted ROTJ figures now a reality, here is my updated list of most wanted figures from the film! When the Batwoman tv show started I saw it as a prime time for the Batman villains from the comics to finally get a real resurgence in the Arrowverse. We had a few great interpretations from Arrow such as Ra's Al Ghul, Deadshot, and Firefly, and while Batwoman has mostly stuck to her own villains (as she is expected to) we have seen a few Batman rogues throughout the bat themed show. Joker's Daughter, Black Mask, and Cluemaster are just a few so far and this third season of the show is coming out swinging when it comes to the Bat villains! While it isn't technically the legacy versions of the characters, we're still getting them in a capacity which includes Mad Hatter who plagued the first episode of the season, with a new Killer Croc surfacing in episode 2, and another version of Mr. Freeze slated to appear as well.
