Top 10 most wanted Star Wars The Black Series figures vol 2

It is aboslutely crazy that I've already posted 200 posts on this blog! It feels like I was just starting it, and very recently doing the 100th post special! Time really flies, and it is time for another hundredth post special. This time I'm doing a follow up to one of the lists that I was really excited to write and posted in the first few posts of the blog starting, that being the Star Wars the Black Series figures I wanted most from the line. I love Star Wars, and the line of 6 inch figures representing the movies coming out that has constantly been something I keep up with. I haven't made a follow up to that original post yet, but that changes today. From the last list, we've gotten a Padme, Mace Windu, Grievous, and at least the standard Battle Droid. So thanks for reading, and here is my top 10 most wanted Star Wars the Black Series figures vol 2!

10. Garindan Spy
Random aliens in the movies are something that the line doesn't touch upon quite as much as the 3.75inch figure line does, but we get one every now and again and I'm hopefully that this alien is one of the ones we get pretty soon. Unlike a lot of the others, this one plays an actual role in the story by leading the imperials to Luke and Obi Wan early in the film, which hopefully gives it some kind of boost in likelihood. I really like the long nosed look of this hooded/goggled alien, and Black Series would be perfect for it.

9. Episode 8 Luke

I'm expanding this slot from the exile version of him, to either of the two remaining episode 8 Luke variations that we haven't gotten yet. I've explained before my love of the exile version of Luke, how it was a damaged and deeply layered character unlike what we had seen from Luke before, but I've greatly come to appreciate his attire during the battle of Crait as well. The Force projection portrayed him as a young, nimble, agile Jedi on par with what we see in the prequels and the white/black outfit really looks great on him.

8. More Padme
The next couple of slots will be a bit more general, but I can't narrow myself down when it comes to these slots. I love the character of Padme and I think it is an absolute shame it took until this year to finally get the first figure of her. I'm hoping that this important, integral Star Wars character and a lot of her gorgeous wardrobe will make it into the line over time. Disney seems to be giving more a focus to female characters nowadays, so hopefully that informs Hasbro's decisions on whether or not to push forward with more Padme figures.

7. More aliens
Like I mentioned earlier, aliens are a scarcity in the line and I think that the most good will come from including more of these beloved fan characters. Aliens obscure and prominent have been a part of Star Wars toy history since the original Kenner toyline and Hasbro has to embrace that more; give us those insane alien headsculpts like Hammerhead and Bith, give us random background grunts to fill out scenes.

6. More droids
Just like aliens, Star Wars thrives on droids and the line has done droids just as scarcely as they have aliens. Astromechs and protocol droids should be filling fans shelves but instead we hardly get any, not to mention the first Battle Droid figure released just earlier this year! We should be getting droids as the norm and hopefully in the future things shift more towards that direction.

5. Prequel Jedi
This is the last slot taken up by a general group of characters, but I think this is one of the biggest omissions in the line so far. Star Wars is known over all else for the Jedi and the lightsabers and the Force, so for the line to not be giving us a ton of these characters is like how we aren't getting any droids and aliens. We're missing core elements of the franchise, and another plus of the prequel Jedi is that most of them are all aliens! So that's two categories of characters fulfilled by this, not to mention more prequel representation which I will always advocate.

4. Super Battle Droid
We got our first Battle Droid, and now the Separatist army should grow exponentially with the obvious profitability of those characters. The next obvious choice would be the Super Battle Droid in its bulky, blue tinted form that would compliment the Battle Droids and influx of prequel character very nicely.

3. Droideka
The other very important Battle Droid we're missing is the Destroyer Droid. I think this one might qualify for the deluxe route given the size and the intricacies of its design with the ability to congest into a ball and roll around. We get plenty of trooper soldiers, but the droid soldiers are iconic as well and would make not only great figures, but great figures in a collection to buy multiples of.

2. Count Dooku
I think out of the entire line, with characters like Padme, the Battle Droid, Mace Windu, and Grievous finally being made, it makes one character's absence stick out more and more to the point that I think he is the biggest omission to the entire line at the moment. Count Dooku is a leading antagonist of the prequel trilogy and Clone Wars tv show, bringing an air of civility to the Sith and enough power to go head to head with Yoda himself. All it would take is one figure in order to bring this character to the line definitively, so hopefully Hasbro will get on that soon and further fill out the prequel roster of characters.

1. Bodhi/Saw
These holes in my collection have only grown with time. Solo released and saw basically every character from major to minor receive a figure, while Rogue One is still missing some of the most important characters from the story. Saw Gerrera is highly popular among fans and has gone on to appear in a few other Star Wars projects, making his popularity obvious and his design lends itself to a great figure as well. Bodhi is a personal favorite of mine and one of my favorite Star Wars characters of all time! I love his everyman role, and the fact that he is such a normal guy caught up in a conflict with the Sith and rebels. Disney described him as a truck driver of the Star Wars universe and I love though, because how many truly regular people get to be main characters in a Star Wars film?
