Top 5 omissions in Hasbro's Star Wars the Black Series vol 3
There's some really obvious characters and designs from the Star Wars universe that I'm very surprised we haven't gotten in the line yet! We've been getting a lot of those characters such as Saw Gerrera, Boba Fett and Ahsoka from The Mandalorian, as well as Echo from the Bad Batch to finish out the team; there still somehow always seems to be more big characters that have yet to be introduced to this nearly 10 year old line at this point!
For a long time all we were getting were Stormtroopers and Clone troopers, and then we got the release of the Fleet Trooper who was followed soon after by the Hoth rebel trooper, adding to the ranks of the rebellion and filling out two big designs from the original trilogy. The last big rebel army builder design remaining from the original trilogy now is the Endor rebels!
Keeping on the subject of army builders are two iconic designs from the Separatist Alliance! We saw plenty of these droids throughout the prequel trilogy and Clone Wars television show, with the Super Battle droids even showing up in flashback sequences during The Mandalorian! These would no doubt sell like hot cakes, and are an army builder's dream whenever Hasbro gets to them.
Jumping back to the original trilogy and Endor will be my focus on the character of Wicket. We've gotten two Ewoks in the line already, and neither are Wicket which I found extremely surprising! While not adored by fans, these furry little aliens hold an iconic place in Star Wars lore and chief among them is the most recognizable of their species! With an Endor Gown Leia coming out in the future, bringing the focus of the line back around to Return of the Jedi at least a little bit, it could be time to give us a Wicket to go with her.
As many figures as we got for the anniversary of Empire Strikes Back a few years ago, this guy stands out as the sore thumb missing from the Empire collection! Lando's right hand man, and while his design isn't anything groundbreaking in terms of action figure appeal, he is still very much sought after by fans! His headsculpt alone would make him interesting to look at, and he'd be the first step in building out a Bespin display around Lando.
Ending my list on a prequel era character and design, this is one that dawned on me as a design so iconic to Star Wars that I can't believe we haven't gotten it yet. I've been waiting for more Padme figures ever since we got her in her Geonosis outfit, and with her Phantom Menace Queen dress being one of her most iconic looks, and plastered across nearly all the posters and media, I'd say that even if the prequels don't get as much attention as the rest of the universe it is still an obvious hole in the collection that we don't have this stellar design yet.
