Most wanted Hammond Collection figures from each Jurassic film vol 2
Hammond Collection has knocked it out of the park with some of their latest reveals like the Therizinosaurus, not to mention long time Dinosaur figure wants of mine like the Ankylosaurus and Carnotaurus have both been realized by the line! With the figures being produced currently being amongst the best in the line so far, with Mattel continously updating their technique, this list will be counting down my new rendition of each Hammond Collection figure I want most from each Jurassic Park/World film!
Jurassic Park - Lex and Tim
When I put the Brachiosaurus in this slot last time I was half-expecting it to be a pipedream but lo and behold Mattel went full force and put out a massive Hammond Collection Brachiosaurus last year! With that dino checked off the list it means that all on-screen dinosaurus from the first film have been officially completed by Mattel in this premium line! So for the first film's slot I'll be putting in some human characters who at this point are the only two major humans from the first film not yet released in the line! An electrocuted Tim and a Lex were to be included in the failed kickstarter; however, I would hope that wouldn't rule them out from eventual mainline releases! The Lost World - Stegosaurus
For as iconic as this dinosaur is I'm frankly shocked that we've gotten much more obscure dinosaurs before this one (Such as the non-movie canon Irritator). With the spiked thagomizer on the end of its tail as well as the numerous plates running down its back, this dinosaur would be a sculpting dream for the team at Mattel and with the feedback received over their rendition of the Triceratops I hope they take that to heart for their next four legged herbivore!JP3 - Spinosaurus
The T-Rex made sense for the big larger scale dinosaur to be added in the line, it's iconic status speaks for itself. The Brachiosaurus rounded out the first film, and the Giganotosaurus is a timely addition given Dominion's recent-ish release. This leaves my boy the Spinosaurus and the fan favorite Indominus Rex as the next two options for larger scale releases in the line and I sure hope we get the Spinosaurus sooner rather than later! While its depiction in the line is not entirely accurate anymore to how we understand this species likely looked, it is still an epic depiction of the creature and one of the reasons Jurassic Park 3 is one of my favorites in the series!Jurassic World - Indominus Rex
Speaking of this genetically modified movie monster, the Indominus Rex craze back when Jurassic World first came out was insane. I remember it being the talk of the town and the fan base, and for good reason with it being a fierce, scary new dinosaur in the movie lore and something I could see Michael Crichton himself writing into the series with how often his work revolved around "science experiments gone wrong." I know a lot of fans wanted this dinosaur in the line before the Giga, and with the line now having the Giga checked off it could mean the team at Mattel will work backwards and hit Jurassic World fans with a fantastic Hammond Indominus!Camp Cretaceous - Scorpios Rex
Throwing Camp Cretaceous into the mix this time around, the series debuted a ton of very cool dinosaur species that were not seen in the films. One of those was their own take on a genetically modified creature, with theirs being the horrifying Scorpius Rex! If the Indoraptor was supposed to be the movie's heaviest take on making a scary dinosaur, then Camp Cretaceous had them beat out of the park with this serial killer. While the series hasn't been touched by Hammond Collection quite yet, I hope eventually the line expands to this series (and its upcoming sequel: Chaos Theory), for all the great creatures within.Fallen Kingdom - Stygimoloch
Getting a starring moment late into Fallen Kingdom, the Stygimoloch would be a very easy smaller scale release for the line and another great dinosaur species for the shelf. The elongated horns when compared to the similar Pachycephalosaurus are a cool contrast, and with the release of the Irritator it gives me hope the line could also eventually produce a Dracorex despite it never appearing in the films. Then I could pose the three dome headed dinosaurs together for a display of "These might be separate species, but also might be the same species in different stages of growth," which I found one of the most entertaining paleontology fun facts.Dominion - Pyroraptor
As I mentioned in a previous post we may be already due for a release of the Pyroraptor given that it is seen on the cross-sell on the back of the Giganotosaurus's box. I'll fully believe it when I see it officially unveiled, given how often things can be cancelled or shifted around in the toy industry, but it is likely true and I cannot wait for this dinosaur to be added in the line. Out of the menagerie of new dinosaurs introduced by Dominion this was one of my favorites with the plethora of feathers, and that it swam. Just like the Stygimoloch, this would easily fill one of the smaller scales of the line.
