Top 5 omissions in Hasbro's Star Wars the Black Series as of May 2024
Recent years have made big strides in rounding out a lot of long time wishlisted characters and designs for the Black Series line of Star Wars figures by Hasbro. The wait for a Super Battle Droid and Droideka were shockingly long but have finally become a reality, not to mention iconic original trilogy designs like Wicket and the Endor Rebels have been released by the line as well. There will still always be characters the line has to get to though, and with this May 2024 edition of Hasbro's top 5 omissions in the line so far I've thought up characters from across the franchise who have shockingly never been released in the Black Series line when you think of "which characters have/have not had 6 inch scale toys from Star Wars yet?"
5. Shaak Ti
We've gotten a nice helping of the prequel era Jedi in recent times, and this year has been a boon for prequel fans like myself as so many awesome designs and characters are finally seeing life in the Black Series! There's one big gaping hole in the prequel Jedi display now from my childhood favorites and that would be Shaak Ti, one of the coolest looking aliens on the Jedi council, and one whose death has been depicted numerous ways to an almost humorous extent. She should be next up in the list of prequel era Jedi the line puts out I would hope!4. Nien Nunb
As many characters as we've gotten from the original trilogy I'm frankly shocked that this iconic alien hasn't been made into the line just yet. Nien Nunb debuted in Return of the Jedi and since then has been a fan favorite and one of the alien species most recognizable from those original films. I know that the Return of the Jedi General Lando did not sell quite so well (he can still be found on pegs in my local Targets), but Nien Nunb would be a banger of a figure with a unique sculpt for his alien features.3. Moff Gideon (Beskar armor)
Not even a pipeline announcement so far for one of the sickest villain designs in recent Star Wars media. Moff Gideon is one of the best Disney era villains to come from modern day Star Wars, and the third season of Mandalorian saw this guy bust out his own Mandalorian armor that may just be one of the coolest sets of armor we've seen in a long time. It is one of those designs that absolutely scream for a figure, and being of a very current design I can't believe the boss form of the big bad of one of the most popular and successful Star Wars shows hasn't already been worked on!2. Queen Amidala
Jumping back to the prequels for this one, especially with the focus that that trilogy is receiving this year, Queen Amidala will be taking the second to top spot. I love that we FINALLY got another Padme in the line which was long overdue given how many iconic designs the character has in the series, but arguably her most iconic outfit has not yet been released in the line. While seen only very shortly in the film itself, the marketing for Phantom Menace cemented this royal red look as Amidala's iconic Queen design, and such an iconic look going unseen in the line this far is stranger by the year; especially this year being a Phantom Menace anniversary.1. Savage Opress
The popularity of The Clone Wars tv show speaks for itself, with some of the coolest characters in the franchise hailing from this series, and SO many figures based on the series selling out easily. Not to mention that the episode of Ahsoka that essentially brought the Clone Wars to live action was lauded as one of the best episodes of live action Star Wars ever! So for the top spot on this list of action figures most egregiously missing from Hasbro's Black Series line so far I'm focusing on Savage Opress, and absolute beast of a baddie and one who made a long lasting impact on fans for his ferocity. There's still so many Clone Wars designs waiting to be adapted, but Savage is one sorely needed.
