Top 5 wanted Transformers: Robots in Disguise 2000 (Car Robots) figures

With all of the hype that Car Robots has been getting lately between the fully funded Haslab to mainline releases like Sideburn I went back and actually watched the original Japanese series in its entirety! It was my first experience with a Japan produced Transformers show, and it was a lot of fun! Plenty of humor that I was used to seeing in Anime translated into a Transformers show, making for one of the most unique viewing experiences I've had in this franchise. The assortment of characters from that universe that Hasbro has given us so far has been awesome to build out the Autobot side of things, and Scourge/Black Convoy is a great start to the Decepticon side of things. With the Haslab being as successful as it was here's hoping that more Car Robots action figures will be coming down the pipeline to accompany such a great set!

5. Team Bullet Train

I'm a sucker for combiner teams, and the amount of train Transformers we have in action figure form for the mainline is tragically scarce, so getting this trio would be so cool. They were each individually massive so I could see this relatively more obscure set of characters being released as a Haslab set, especially since at their size I don't see Hasbro taking up three of their larger scale price points for this one set of characters for a year.

4. Commandos

Another team of characters that I loved each second they were on screen were the Commandos, who were essentially the Combaticons except that their designs skewed closer to the original G1 toy designs which was really neat. While the unique designs are very cool, I could see Hasbro producing G1 Combaticons and then just repainting them into the colors of the Commandos and their combined form Baldigus/Ruination. Scourge at the moment is mighty lonely on the shelf, and having his combat team would make it so easy to recreate so many scenes from the series!

3. Goosher, Gas Skunk, and Gwildor

From the get go these three stole the show, and continued to be some of the most entertaining characters throughout! We've been getting more and more beast Transformers in recent years since Kingdom invigorated the line with Beast Wars, and these three Predacons/Destrongers would be absolutely killer to have in the display. Their sizes seemed to shift from scene to scene (classic for older Transformers shows) but I could see them either in the deluxe or core class slots. Gas Skunk's tail in beast mode becoming a huge ponytail in bot mode is one of my favorite design traits from the show, and Goosher as a frog automatically makes him a priority need for me!

2. Sky-Byte

While some of the other characters on this list have been more obscure and unique to Car Robots, Sky-Bite is one character that has definitely grown in popularity over the years and has made additional appearances in other media, along with getting updated action figures every now and again. Just like the Predacon trio, this guy was an absolute menace when first introduced and stayed one of the most engaging characters to watch as the show progressed and his character developed further. With the gained popularity of this character over the years I could easily see him being released sooner rather than later, and a decent voyager class rendition of this character would be awesome.

1. Gigatron

Whenever Hasbro/Takara get around to designing a figure for an updated Gigatron they will certainly have their work cut out for them! As simple as some of his conversions were, Gigatron was still packed with a multitude of transformations that he utilized throughout the series. Whether it be his epic twin-dragon mode, his cowardly bat mode, or the humorous hand form, he would be an action figure update that fans could have so much fun with! While I've considered him potential for a Haslab release, I honestly think that they could capture him at the Commander class price point since his transformations were never too involved, and the wide release of his figure would make it easy for them to them repaint and rerelease him as Devil-Gigatron/Galvatron! I know I'm looking forward to hopefully getting an updated figure in order to display him in his Devil-Elephant mode!!
