There was a lot of questions regarding what Jada Toys was going to do with their Street Fighter line following the conclusion of the Street Fighter 2 roster which they had filled out with an incredible set of figures. We got our answer at SDCC as the first three figures comprising the roster of Alpha 3 were debuted! A new Ryu, a new Chun Li, and Charlie are the three headlining the next game in the franchise that Jada Toys is delving into and they look just as amazing as ever! With how well Jada Toys has handled action figures to this point I expect high things from their Alpha 3 endeavor, and with the first wave fully unveiled I've got thoughts on who I want to see next!
5. Cody
My Street Fighter knowledge isn't too extensive. I've dabbled in the games, and watched the animated movies, but that is enough for me to have a grasp on Cody. A fallen hero who grew obsessed with fighting is an interesting direction for the character, and his prisoner jumpsuit complete with the handcuffs makes for a very distinctive and stylized look.
4. Sakura
Fitting right alongside Ryu, Sakura is a ton of fun as an inspired sidekick to one of the most popular and iconic characters in the franchise. I remember her fondly from the animated film as well. The host of female characters in the line thus far is drastically low compared to the male fighters so Sakura and any other female fighters would be very welcome, especially as articulated as past endeavors like Chun Li and Cammy have been!
3. R. Mika
Speaking of characters inspired by others, R. Mika takes after my own heart as she idolizes the great Zangief. I am beyond excited for Zangief's figure to be released in one of the upcoming waves, and with Alpha 3 as their next focus soon(ish) after his wave's release it would be great synergizing to have the fighter he inspired to come out sooner rather than later!
2. Cammy
From the first batch of figures we've gotten thus far I've had a ton of fun with posing Cammy around and she has been one of my favorites Jada has put out so far. I think I may like her Alpha 3 design even more with its bright blues and the more professional looking uniform (even despite the bare thighs), especially the cap from which her blonde locks drape down from.
1. Sodom
Sodom is a character I'm relatively unfamiliar with; however, his insane design and presence really draws me towards his character and just like the Jada Toys line has gotten me more interested in the Street Fighter brand I am more interested in knowing about Sodom in the case he one days receives a figure by the company. With how well larger scale characters like Blanka and Sagat have been pulled off I have no doubt that Sodom would be another banger in this hit line of bangers, and a star of the Alpha 3 action figure line up!
