Top 5 wanted Jurassic World Mattel Hammond Collection Dinosaurs vol 3
Mattel's Hammond Collection line of Dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures is beginning to get to that point where I feel as though they've nearly covered the swath of creatures we've seen on-screen throughout the now seven movies in the franchise. With the recent incredible releases of the JP3 Spinosaurus and the Stegosaurus we've checked off two major missing pieces from the collection. Beyond that, the Stygimoloch was a nice one to finally see released, the Pyroraptor was a very fun creature from Dominion to get, and we even got a stellar Allosaurus hailing from the Battle for Big Rock short film! With all that it has cleared out my previous most wanted list, and with Rebirth having premiered and debuting a host of new Dinosaurs and designs to the world I have a new most wanted list prepped for the ever growing Hammond Collection line.
5. Indominus Rex
At this point the Indominus is one of the most requested dinosaurs in the line, and the last larger scale Therapod from the films not to receive a figure at this point. It headlined the return of the franchise in Jurassic World, it made its impact as the first hybrid in the movies, and with the advancements of the line to this point the Indominus has the making to be yet another slam dunk. It is also at this point one of the only prehistoric creatures from the first six films not to be made yet, meaning we should hopefully expect it soon.4. Quetzalcoatlus
I've mentioned before how I wasn't exactly keen on how the rubber wings were enacted in the line when they previously put out their only flying prehistoric creature figure. The Quetzalcoatlus has been one of my top favorite newer creatures seen in these past two films, with its immense size, odd beak design, and now one of the standout sequences in Rebirth at the cliffside encounter. With how long the line has been going I'm curious to see if they have another approach to the wing design for a second go around.3. Mutadon
Rebirth treated us to not one but two new hybridization designs, the most plentiful being the Mutadons. Essentially flying raptors, whose bulbous necks, beaks, and wingspan make it one of the most stand out animal designs throughout the franchise for its wackiness. A lot of the other dinosaurs in this list are comprised of larger scale pricepoints and sizes, whereas the Mutadon would be a nice return to the mid-size price point that we truly do not see much of these days.2. D. Rex
The big bad of the new film is a true monstrosity. Whereas the Indominus was a perfect killing machine, the Distortus Rex is an abomination that truly went wrong in the lab. Teased at the start of the film, we really got to lavish in this beast in the film's climax, and it is no doubt one of the scariest beasts in the franchise with the idea that it just exists in the world being a highly uncomfortable thought. It would be an INSANE piece to have in the Hammond Collection, and one of the most posable as well with its gorilla-like stance.1. Spinosaurus (Rebirth)
History seems to be repeating itself, though I have a bit of bias, as the Spinosaurus is (technically) remaining as my most wanted figure in the line. I was beyond excited when I saw that my favorite Dinosaur species were returning to the films in Rebirth, and even more so when I found out they were sporting as design closer to true scientific accuracy (though of course sporting typical movie monster flares). The more quadrupedal stance, the paddle tail, the longer and flatter back sail, this new Spinosaurus is wholly deserving of its own figure in the line. It would not be the first time we've received multiple versions of the same creature in the line (numerous Raptors, and the upcoming Buck T-Rex); however, this would be the first instance where the two bare little similarity to one another.
