Top 5 Favorite Star Wars: The Black Series figures of 2024

This was a big year for the prequel trilogy in Hasbro's Star Wars The Black Series and you'll definitely see that reflected in my ranking of my top 5 favorite Black Series figures of 2024. With 2025 already promising several great releases I'm circling back to 2024 one more time for my favorite releases of the year!

5. Destroyer Droid

A long time coming was the Destroyer Droid who came out as a magnificent deluxe release. The sculpting work captured all the mechanical detailing and the coloring on this droid invokes the movie design perfectly. The articulation scheme complements the design well, and it can even transform into a ball like seen in the films!

4. Yord, Sol, Jecki

I seem to be amongst the minority who really enjoyed The Acolyte. It was a blast of pure Jedi/Sith action that introduced several new characters into the Star Wars universe who I've been more than excited to add to the collection. Yord, Sol, and Jecki were all released right off the bat and all three were very cool Jedi from the series who translated into well done action figures that capitalize on the line's typical approach to Jedi figures. An added plus was that all three came with cloth cloaks!

3. Updated Darth Maul

The first Darth Maul in the line was released all the way back in 2013 during the line's very first wave of figures. Fast forward now to 2024 and we've finally received the proper update that brings Maul's sculpting and articulation into the modern age. Able to pull off all the acrobatic poses seen in the movie as well as a more accurate lightsaber sculpt and the ability to actually pull off a stable standing pose, this Darth Maul is the perfect action figure rendition of the character the line has needed.

2. Ki Adi Mundi

This was a figure in the works for literal years by Hasbro. Pipeline revealed one year, revealed the next, and finally revealed last year, it took a while for Ki Adi Mundi to officially enter the line but now that he has the figure certainly was worth the wait. With a brand new sculpt befitting the character, Ki Adi's signature conical head design, sleeveless cloak, and lightsaber have all been translated immaculately into the figure line making for another stand out Jedi figure.

1. Super Battle Droid

From the moment I opened up the Super Battle Droid figure I knew immediately that it was going to be one of the best figures that I handled this year, and here it is topping off my Black Series list. Just like the Droideka, the Super Battle Droid was a long overdue figure in the line and was well worth the wait. A beautiful sculpt, no balance issues whatsoever, and even removable panels with interior circuit detailing, this droid is the pinnacle of what the Black Series can be and undoubtedly a highlight of the entire line up to this point.
