Ranking my excitement for upcoming Marvel phase 4 movies
Marvel has finally revealed their phase 4 line up and while it has a shorter list of movies attached to it, with the complete absence of an Avengers film, the movies coming up are very exciting and Marvel seems to be considering phase 4 to include both their movies and their new tv shows which does boost the phase 4 project count to 10. For this list I'll be focusing on the movies only, with a list detailing my excitement about the tv shows coming another time. So with five films to go through, here is my ranking of my excitement for films making up the MCU's fourth phase.

5. Black Widow
I do really enjoy her character in the films, and am glad she is getting some spotlight after being just a side character in most of the films, but I do think she would better fit into one of the tv shows like they're doing for Hawkeye. I'm just not that interested in seeing a big budget film about her, though I am interested in the fact that it takes place between Civil War and Infinity War, a currently unexplored span of time, as well as the fact that Taskmaster is the villain supposedly! I'm looking forward to this film, but I do think she would have been better suited to a tv show.

4. Thor: Love and Thunder
We don't know much about this film right now, and while I greatly enjoy Thor's new characterization I did think Ragnarok took the comedy a bit too much. I'm looking forward to this new film though based on the fact that they're bringing back Natalie Portman's character, and turning her into the female Thor from the comics! Thor is also now the hero with the most solo movies, and it'll be interesting where they take the series after Ragnarok and Endgame.

3. Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
I'm surprised that for this hero's first movie they gave it a tagline, a surprisingly long one at that, but it makes sense as the title immediately teases what most fans have wanted for a long time. We're finally getting the true Mandarin in the films after Iron Man 3's villain didn't live up to the namesake. Aside from that, the MCU is getting their first post-Endgame major hero in the form of Shang Chi, who is also their first film headlining an asian hero which is another big step for Marvel and the superhero community.

2. Eternals
Out of all of the films, I feel like I know the least about what is going on in this one, but the concept sounds wacky, cosmic, and certainly like it will be a good ride. Marvel has assured us that they know how to handle space based stories with outlandish settings, characters, and plots, so something as unknown and grand as the Eternals will no doubt be another hit for the studios.

1. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
I wasn't too much of a fan of the first Doctor Strange, so I'm surprised in myself that my most anticipated movie from phase 4 is the sequel to that movie. Infinity War and Endgame did a lot for the character's personality to make me like the character a lot more, and I'm hoping that the Doctor Strange sequel keeps his personality intact and already it sounds like a different film from its predecessor. This film is being billed as the MCU's first horror movie, which sounds awesome to me, and added to that is the fact that Scarlet Witch will be teaming with Doctor Strange in the movie similar to Hulk and Thor in Ragnarok which I'm excited for as well. We'll have the answer to how good this film, along with the other four, will be in just two short years!
