Top 5 most wanted updated Transformers Beast Machines figures
A controversial Transformers series among fans that hasn't been touched upon yet in Legacy but I'm hoping it eventually is because I actually quite liked it! It definitely made some odd choices as a sequel to Beast Wars, but growing up I ended up watching Beast Machines first and found it to be a lot of fun with cool characters, and a lot of very unique ideas that we hadn't seen in Transformers up to that point! The Beast fever is no doubt going to be high with Kingdom revitalizing Beast Wars displays, and the upcoming Rise of the Beasts introducing Beast-formers to the mass audience. So here is hoping we'll see some Beast Machines brought back to the figure lines!
Despite being a Beast focused show this is actually the only Beast character I'm going to be including on this list. The Maximals were great, but it was the Vehicons of the show that really struck me with their designs. Optimus Primal is an iconic character though and the one figure from the original toyline that I managed to get! I absolutely loved the gorilla design for this version of the character, along with the very heroic looking robot mode!
By far one of the most charismatic characters on the show, and one whose true identity broke hearts once finally revealed. His talk show host-like voice made him a fan favorite among many, and his very peculiar robot mode would surely make him a very unique presence on the shelf!
Along character with a very distinct robot mode, looking very similar to the Arcee triplets from the Michael Bay Revenge of the Fallen film. Out of the initial trio of Vehicons Thrust was the most mysterious and rogue, exuding an air of cool whenever he cycled into a scene. His true identity was much less intimidating, but I think it worked to make him even more of a positive character to fans.
We got a Deluxe sized upgrade of this character during the Thrilling 30 line; however, just like Armada Starscream who has been properly reintroduced at a larger scale I want to see Tankor given the proper Leader class sizing to address the design of the character! He ranks among the most iconic of the Beast Machine designs, appearing on screen at the start of the series to hunt down Primal and the other Maximals, and even got a larger storyline later on where he turned out to be smarter than he seemed.
The second wave of Vehicon generals brought with it two of the coolest characters in the show in my opinion, and shooting right to the top of my most wanted list for figures would be Obsidian! Working with Cyberton's best intentions at heart, Obsidian was a logical, calculating general who really threw the Maximals for a loop throughout the show's second half. Just like a lot of the other Decepticons in the show, his design was very abstract and would make for an extremely unique shelf presence!
