Top 5 wanted Amazing Yamaguchi Revoltech My Hero Academia figures

Just like 2023 was the year that S.H.Figuarts finally sucked me in, Amazing Yamaguchi's Revoltech line of figures has nabbed me as well. My Hero Academia is probably my favorite modern anime that has been coming out, and the figures that have been produced for this line so far have been spectacular! Especially with Mcfarlane's My Hero line seemingly cancelled, it is fantastic to see another line of figures based on the show flourishing, and at a much higher caliber of quality as well (I would hope so for the price!). Superb articulation, myriad of effect pieces and accessories, these offerings are packed to the brim to make them the best My Hero Academia figures we could be getting! This year is looking to bring lots of fan favorite characters such as Shigaraki, Dabi, and Ochaco, but as always my eye is on the horizon and the potential for what else we may one day get!

Honorable mention: All For One

One of the coolest anime villains out there, All For One remains my favorite antagonist of the series and his recent acts in season 6 of the show only solidify how epic of a villain this guy is. He is only ranking so low on the list because his design doesn't necessarily attribute itself to the hyper articulated, action oriented style that Revoltech stylizes toward. I still want a new version of All For One one day, but for now I'm happy with both my Mcfarlane versions, and there's some other characters with more creative designs and articulation needs that I'll go through next.

5. Mirio, Nejire, and Tamaki

The "Big Three" of the show overall haven't done as much as I would expect of them with such a title, but all three members have been standout characters still with their personalities and display of creative powers. Mirio is obviously the one that stands out the most, having the most screen time and character development; however, when it comes to powers Nejire and Tamaki would make for much cooler action figures! Amazing Yamaguchi has already displayed prowess with effect pieces which has Nejire covered, but the one out of the three that I desire most as a Revoltech figure would have to be Tamaki for the plethora of insane accessory pieces he could come with to display his morphing powers!!

4. Toga and Twice

The line is finally dipping into the villain side of the series with Shigaraki and Dabi which are two fantastic choices, and next I would love to see more of the League of Villains added into the line to pose out against the heroes. With Ochaco entering the line after Dabi it would be the perfect follow up to have Toga added not long after her. As well, Twice would pair up well with the recently released Hawks (No spoilers for season 5...but sadness), and a Toga if she is made soon too. Twice's design is not the most dynamic for the Revoltech style, but I imagine they could come up with some fun duplicating accessories.

3. Froppy, Tenya, Momo

From the start, Amazing Yamaguchi's line has leaned into the students of class 1-A, and with good reason as they are the heroes of the story and at least during the first couple seasons the primary characters that we followed. Todoroki and Kirishima look great amongst Deku and Bakugo, with Ochaco being a long overdue character to add to the line's roster; however, there's still a few prominent members of the class missing in the line. With the line's focus on dynamic movement and articulation, I am surprised that Froppy and Tenya both have not been revealed quite yet, as both are extremely nimble characters who fit the style of the line. I also have to mention the vice class representative, Momo, for how important she is to the group as a whole, especially with her taking on more of a leadership position in season 6.

2. Vigilante Deku (another Deku in general)

The one figure in the line I haven't been able to go back and pick up yet is that first Deku that was released, who goes for some crazy aftermarket prices these days. As the main character of the series he is a must for the line and for late comers like me, it seems like it is high time for another Deku to be added into the line for those of us who missed out. His vigilante look in season 6 is sick, and with the addition of multiple quirks by that point in his career the potential for plenty of cool accessory pieces would be high. Even if they just end up rereleasing the original Deku, or one of his other costume variations, I just want another Deku in the line so I can have the main character of the series without having to pay nearly 200 dollars.

1. Stain

Out of all the characters from the show who could most benefit from the extreme posability and action posing focus of the Revoltech line, none come to mind more than the Hero killer: Stain. Though his appearances in the anime have been scarce, he has made his mark as one of the coolest antagonists in the series from his design, to his nasty quirk, and his idolization of All Might. Amazing Yamaguchi could go crazy giving this guy all the articulation he needs to get into the extreme poses he utilizes in the series, not to mention the potential for posable bandana and scarf pieces to really maximize the dynamism of this character on the self! Not to mention also that figures with swords automatically lend themselves to epic set ups.
