Top 5 wanted Mattel Jurassic World prehistoric crocodilians

The next branch of prehistoric creatures I will be diving into is the ancient crocodilians, a species which over time look very similar to their prehistoric counterparts, though there were certainly some wild crocodilians back in the day. From the massive Sarcosuchus, to the "boar croc" Kaprosuchus Mattel has been diving steadily into this species line; however, I hope we get plenty more beyond the recently released Gryposuchus, starting with the five on this list!

5. Simosuchus

Simosuchus would fit into one of the smaller price point categories for Mattel similar to Postosuchus, and the squat nature of this croc reminds me a lot of present day species. The most defining feature of this ancient crocodilians would have to be the extremely short nature of its skull for which it was named after, and which sets it apart from most crocodilians who have extensive jaws.

4. Fasolasuchus

One of the largest crocodilians of ancient times would be the Fasolasuchus, seen in this heart hunting after a long necked sauropod. This species gained more notoriety last year as it was the primary antagonist in the film "65," and I admit that its presence in that movie is a big factor in why I'd love a plastic version from Mattel! As opposed to most other types of its species such as Sarcosuchus, the Fasolasuchus had much longer appendages that kept it further off the ground, and likely more mobile.

3. Armadillosuchus

When I first saw a picture of this prehistoric creature I honestly though it was fake, but evidently this was a true living creature that used to prowl the Earth! The Armadillosuchus gets its name for looking straight up like an armadillo with body armor and a thick sheath around its being. This easily makes it one of the most unique looking creatures of the time!

2. Stomatosuchus

Another bizarre looking prehistoric crocodilian would be the Stomatosuchus! It looks very similar to the usual image of a crocodile until you reach the head, and boy what a pelican-like jaw it sports! Unfortunately, the only specimen of this creature's fossil remains were destroyed in the Munich bombings (similar to the holotypes of Spinosaurus and Carcharodontosaurus) meaning that there isn't anything presently available to study about this creature. That head alone would make for a killer figure from Mattel that I hope we get sooner rather than later!

1. Carnufex

Another smaller creature of this species that would fit a smaller price point in the Jurassic World would be the Carnufex, a freaking bipedal crocodile that used to be a real thing living on planet Earth! Crocs are ferocious enough without the ability to walk on their hind legs, so knowing that one used to shoots it to the top of my priority list due to the uniqueness! Crocodiles in general are an extremely fascinating species living on our planet, who evolutionarily have changed very little aside from size from their prehistoric roots. From the short skulled Simosuchus to the bipedal Carnufex, incredible life forms used to populate the Earth, and I hope Mattel eventually helps to populate my display shelf with these species!
