Top 5 most wanted Mcfarlane DC Multiverse Tales from the Dark Multiverse figures

I have always been a huge fan of What If? storylines and when DC comics started an entire imprint on dark, elseworlds What If? tales I was hooked. The first round of offerings from Tales from the Dark Multiverse were a great load of fun, and I was even more thrilled when a second round of stories was announced and subsequently released. While some of the stories don't quite live up to the promise of a great elseworlds tale, many of them have gripped me and given us twisted, dark multiverse renditions of beloved characters that I would love to see adapted to figure form by Mcfarlane. They've had a penchant with the license to make twisted versions of our favorite heroes, with the Infected Superman and countless alternate Batmen plenty of examples of this. So with the Tales from the Dark Multiverse once again having come to a close, these are my top 5 most wanted figures.

5. Sinestro
Out of the first batch of offerings, the Blackest Night one was one of my favorite and the simple plotline of Sinestro refusing to share the power of the lanterns was the perfect split decision moment. It was a great possibility that the villain would have done just that, and now we know what would have happened if he did! The split, Two Face esque design of the villain would make for a really cool figure, and the story ending with Sinestro trying to escape into the multiverse itself shows the lengths at which the character suffered his choice.

4. Azbat and Batman the silenced

There are two choices for this slot that I'm merging into one as they're both Bat focused. The first ever Dark Multiverse tale we got was a rift on the Knightfall storyline where Azrael defeated Batman and reigned over Gotham as a new, more deadly protector. With time, his Azbat suit got even cooler with layered armor, a neat mix of white and red, as well as a fur laden cape. Coming from the second round of Dark Multiverse comics we were introduced to a Batman who went mad from his parents' killings, and learned the tricks and trades from the famed inmates of Arkham of how to become the greatest killer of all. It is such a brilliant elseworlds concept for Bruce Wayne to become "Batman" from the teachings of all his greatest enemies, and his Hush inspired Batman design would be so cool as a figure.

3. Alan Scott, the Dread Lantern
My favorite out of the second batch of stories was for sure the Crisis on Infinite Earths tale, following what would have happened if it was Earth 2 that survived. I haven't previously been a big fan of the Last Days of the Justice Society storyline, I thought the whole indulgence in Norse mythology was a bit strange, but I enjoyed it a heck of a lot more here. Having the JLA take the JSA's place in trying to stop Surtur, and fail miserably, made for such a compelling furthering of this world's differing, and Surtur's reign of destruction across Earth was devastating. Alan Scott shone in this tale, all the way up to his last ditch effort to save Earth by becoming an avatar for Surtur and leading him to other planets as long as Earth was left alone.

2. Gaia
In a heartbreaking turn of events, an act of kindness spurred what was one of my favorite Dark Multiverse tales as kindness from Robin inspired Terra to turn against Deathstroke sooner. Too soon it seemed, as she sought to get payback on the world and rose against everyone in her quest to rule. The Teen Titans trying and failing to get through to her were great scenes, and Terra's clever plan to defeat Superman topped off her rise to pure villainy.

1. The Eradicator
My absolute favorite story from the Dark Multiverse had to be the Death of Superman storyline, and seeing Lois Lane become a twisted, vengeful Superwoman in the wake of Clark's demise. Lois Lane's cynicism and despair at the death of her husband believably made for her darker turn as a hero, and her shared moments with the revived Clark before his final death when they fought Cyborg Superman were written perfectly for these versions of the character. Lois Lane's Eradicator is one of the best written characters of the Dark Multiverse label, and the one I hope most gets made into a figure.
