5 things I'm looking forward to in DC's Stargirl's season 3
5. Sylvester vs Pat in training Courtney
Having Starman back in the mix is a big surprise that I'm sure the show will get more into the semantics of during season 3, but one thing for sure is that we can expect some major dynamic shifts compared to what we've gotten used to! Pat may very well fall back towards that sidekick role as Sylvester is here, but I'm really hoping to see more of Pat standing up to himself especially given how mean Sylvester could be as seen in a lot of the flashbacks! Sylvester's more carefree style towards responsibilities will no doubt jive well with Courtney, so there are a lot of conversations I'm looking forward to seeing with Sylvester.
4. More Jakeem
Along with Jenny, Jakeem was the other big JSA character to get introduced during season 2 and I'm really looking forward to seeing more of him as we didn't get a lot of time with the character until the end of the series. He looks to be a hilarious foil to Mike with the two definitely on their way to becoming one of the series' best duos! It would be a cool character development for Jakeem as well to possibly take on more of the overconfident attitude from the comics as he becomes more adept with the Thunderbolt!
3. Todd Rice aka Obsidian
From the introduction of Jenny in season 2 we started to have the groundwork laid for Todd Rice to eventually be introduced into the show, with his name mentioned several times and his locations even essentially confirmed! He is one of the most conflicted characters of the JSA, consistently pulled towards darkness, and having him act as an antagonist for part of the season once Jenny finally reunites with him would be a tough confrontation. With Shade's involvement with the Shadowlands and continued presence on the show I can't help but wonder whether Shade and Todd will end up connected in some way.
2. Cameron becoming Icicle Jr?
Knowing he was the son of supervillain Icicle gave me very different expectations for Cameron than how the character has panned out so far. I genuinely really like Cameron and he is by far one of the nicest and kindest characters in the series, with the season 2 moment where he immediately shuts down Cindy (before Cindy could even offer him a spot on her ISA) being one of my favorites. Despite this, I know his comic book legacy, and his continued frustration with being left out and abandoned does not bode well for the character's journey. Season 1 hinted towards his powers, with season 2 ending with his grandparents revealing their metahuman abilities to him. Cameron going down a dark path will be heartbreaking to see, but an inevitable one I feel.
1. Mister Bones and Helix
An audible gasp escaped me when the Helix Institute first appeared in the series. I am a massive fan of DC's Infinity Inc comic run, and my heart got pumping even more when a character named 'Love' made an appearance, with my heart coming to a dead stop once 'Bones' himself was mentioned and then revealed in full during the season's finale! I am beyond excited to see Mister Bones brought to live action, and with how faithful the series has been thus far to comic material I'm really wondering whether several of the troubled teens in his Helix organization will turn out to be interpretations of his allies from the comics! Baby Boom, Kritter, and the others would all be incredible to see translated into a live action series, and after the great representations of the Injustice Society and Eclipso I am very much looking forward to the 3rd season's villains!
