Top 5 favorite Tamashii Nations S.H.Figuarts of 2025
Tamashii Nations' S.H.Figuarts line had another incredible year of releases throughout 2025. Though the price increases weren't the funnest pill the swallow, the quality of the figures were phenomenal as always. Multiple lines were firing on all cylinders, and in this list I'm going to break down the five figures that wowed me most from the 2025 offerings that I picked up!
Honorable Mention: Ichiraku Ramen shop set
One of the funnest releases had to be the Ichiraku Ramen play set for the Naruto line. This came out when the line was bursting with releases and seemed to be firing on the same rate as the One Piece and Dragon Ball line, with an entire playset cementing its status as one of the big long running lines. While the break in Naruto figures hasn't been fun, the Ichiraku Playset still stands as one of the most engaging pieces of the line that greatly help to fill out environmental displays and really breathe life into the characters and the world they live in.
5. Ochaco
The ending of My Hero Academia had me emotional from start to finish, and I'm so thrilled to have the S.H.Figuarts line of figure to carry on the franchise since Revoltech seems to be done with their releases. Every figure in the MHA line has been stand out (with minor flaws amongst them) but Ochaco has so far taken the cake for best release in my eyes. Her design and sculpt looks like she jumped straight off the screen itself and its so easy to get her into numerous poses replicating the series, not to mention the decent amount of accessories and scene specific accessories she includes (no one would've blinked twice if the megaphone had been omitted), and I think she is a star for what the line could deliver at its peak.
4. Goku (The Games Begin)
I was skeptical about yet ANOTHER Goku being releases, especially another Super Saiyan Goku; however, having this figure in hand I can say that it really has ushered in a new gold standard for the Dragon Ball line and all previous 3.0 Goku molds that have come before can without a doubt be replaced with this masterpiece (which is ALREADY being released with standard form, SSGod form, and SSGodSS form!). The range of articulation that you can achieve with this figure is utterly insane, and the silhouette matches Goku spot on. Any fan of the Dragon Ball line needs to pick up this figure ASAP, especially with its budget pricing!
3. Hinata and Shikamaru
Before the hiatus in the Naruto line (evidently warranted by the change in design lead who jumped over to the Hunter x Hunter line), Hinata and Shikamaru really impressed me last year. Both were very welcome additions to the Konoha Shinobi display as fellow classmates of Naruto, and in their own right they both are great figures. Hinata herself captures her timid energy in her faceplates very well, and while some of Shikamaru's faceplates have been memed to death for their poor printing, aside from those two faceplates the rest of the figure is a 10/10. Both contain the applaudable articulation that the Naruto line has always thrived with, and Shikamaru especially comes with a great spread of accessories including Asuma's lighter and blade, and a plastic printed piece to represent his Shadow Possession or Shadow Stitching jutsu!
2. Guts (The Band of the Hawk)
My last pick up for the year turned out to be one of my favorites. While I have personally really enjoyed the Berserk line of figures I can admit that they haven't been without their flaws, especially those first few releases. When it comes to the latest Guts figure however, I cannot provide any major flaws and having the figure in hand it just *feels* very sturdy and secure. There's no concern about parts falling off, loose hand pegs, and above all the figure poses great without any major restrictions! The faceplates are very expressive (especially his smirk), he has no problem holding the sword, and the most impressive piece of engineering to me is that the side skirts aren't slotted on by plastic pegs but by cloth attachments, meaning that they move with ease with no concern about plastic being torn or eventually shearing off! If this Guts is any indication of the future of the line I think the S.H.F Berserk line has then left behind all prior QC issues!
1. Portgas D. Ace
One of my very first pick ups of the year, I had a feeling from the start that Ace from One Piece was going to be the top of my list by the end of 2025. He already had an engineering advantage by way of being produced for a competition involving One Piece figures, and that ended up yielding the One Piece line with its most impressive figure yet. Ace looks exactly like he jumped off the screen and despite his primarily naked body the designing team did a commendable job making the articulation cuts not very egregious. Ace poses with fluidity like butter, and the sheer spread of his accessories make his original $90 price point feel like a steal, with enough present to feel like a whole separate accessory set! Just like the Berserk line, whatever issues the One Piece line had to start out with, these recent releases have begun to leave any complaints in the dust.
