Top 5 most wanted Transformers TCG card gimmicks
Wave 3 of WOTC's Transformers the card game recently came out and with it came a few new gimmicks for players to experiment with in their decks and in the game. Both the second and third waves brought major new gimmicks for players to learn, such as combiners, triple changers, and the more recent addition of micromasters and battlemasters. WOTC has stated that new gimmicks will slow down so that players aren't having to learn something new with each wave, but new gimmicks will still be a part of the game and there are a few major things from Transformers lore that has yet to make it into the game, and here are the top 5 gimmicks I want to see most in the Transformers card game.

5. Minicons
I put this at the bottom of the list because we may have seen how they will work. The micromasters and battlemasters could be an indication to how minicons will work once they're finally added to the game, but we can't be for sure right now. Their big gimmick in Armada was that they powered up their bigger bot in some way, unlocking a new ability, and that isn't what the micromasters and battlemasters do despite being smaller bots like minicons. Perhaps there will be an Armada wave where each bot will have a special ability unlocked by combination with a minicon? Hopefully it'll be answered one day.

4. Headmasters
With battlemasters, we have essentially seen how targetmasters would work in this game. One thing from season 4 that we don't have yet though is headmasters. These are smaller bots that transform into the heads of larger Transformers. Could it be that if the headmaster dies, the bot is stuck in alt mode? When they get to doing headmaster characters it will be impossible to avoid adding this new gimmick!

3. Six changer
WOTC have come out and said that they are actively trying to figure out how a six changer like Sixshot or Quickswitch would work in the card game. That sounds great to me, they're working on something that I honestly cannot imagine fitting in their current play style. Sixshot was a larger character in the show, so maybe he'll be a larger card that just folds in on itself a few times to create seven sides? Who knows, but WOTC is working on it.

2. Unicron
Another thing that WOTC said they're working on is the character of Unicron. His size alone makes him a sort of gimmick, and the possibilities for his play style sound like a gimmick as well. The example WOTC mentioned they're working with is the idea that Unicron might be a raid battle that other players go up against in groups, which sounds awesome, and I can't wait to see how big the card is that houses this titan. The recent reveal of the Haslab Unicron makes this more than a perfect time for WOTC to bring out their take on the planet eater!

1. Other universes expansions
Since before the game came out this was something that I was hoping to see down the line, and that I believe WOTC has confirmed they will do eventually. I want to see waves based on something other than G1. I would love a wave focusing on the live action movies, or the Armada television show, or the Beast Wars sequel Beast Machines. Outside of G1 there is still a vast, rich pool of characters and lore to pull from and hopefully the lifespan of the card game is long enough that it can start exploring these other worlds Transformers has.
