Best Mega Construx Pokemon Pokeball sets from each series

Mega Construx' buildable line of Pokemon figures has come far since it started, filling out its roster of Pokemon and sets very nicely, thouhg they are far from finished. Alongside their larger lines, they've been running smaller Pokeball sets that contain usually a first evolution Pokemon, but always one small enough to fit into a 7 dollar price point. That series hit 10 waves recently, and to celebrate that, I'll be going over what I personally think is the best figure from each wave. With many more waves hopefully in the pipeline, here are the figures that I think shone the brightest out of each wave.

Series 1: Abra
Wave 1 made a smart choice by delivering six very popular Pokemon from the original game, all of them of high standard, but none more so than Abra. This Pokemon build was very articulated, was larger than the others, and had the very appeal that the original Pokemon had. I can see the placid mind waiting to teleport away, with the figure expertly recreating the Pokemon's hunched sitting position easily.

Series 2 Rattata
Wave 2 brought another bunch of notable Kanto Pokemon to the mix, some very popular, while others were just Pokemon that were abundant in the old game. The one that stood out the most to me was Rattata. It came with a fair amount of articulation, a new type of build, and utilized the more rubbery whisper type material that we've seen several times since.

Series 3 Spinarak
Out of all of wave 3, this one is most obviously the notable one. With so many points of articulation, a great looking build with a great looking color pallet, this Pokemon set excels as one of the best of the sets. The headsculpt for the Pokemon as well works very well, with the eyes, horn, and pincers captured greatly.

Series 4 Magnemite
This wave was a bit more trouble to find at retail, which was a shame because it was loaded with great builds, and chief among them was Magnemite. It was an entirely new type of build with  a Pokemon that worked very well for the format. Its rounded body came out great, and the magnets on each side of its body were practically begging to be made into a Construx set.

Series 5 Stufful
Yet another wave that was difficult to find at retail, the prize from this wave in my opinion was Stufful. This Alolan Pokemon came out on the larger side compared to other builds from this wave, and its colors look great, as well as its build which makes it very versatile for posing.

Series 6 Chinchou
With this wave, we got quite a few major Pokemon who we hadn't gotten yet to this point. While they were great, Chinchou was the one that stood out for me. Its fish body was done in a creative way, with rubber fins in the back, and a great pair of rubbery antenna arching over its head.

Series 7 Salandit
Another Alolan Pokemon took the crown for its wave with Salandit. Just like other builds like Stufful and Spinarak, Salandit was loaded with articulation and even had a working jaw which make it even funner to pose and to play with.

Series 8 Eevee
In the first wave of the series, we got an Eevee, and in this wave we got an updated version that I think highly improves over the first version. Basically a new build from the ground up, the legs on this Pokemon are great for posing, and the newly sculpted neck piece and head piece look fantastic, improving upon everything that first Eevee set had.

Series 9 Vulpix
Just like the Eevee set, the Vulpix figure is loaded with articulation and great pieces. Being similar in build, both have great range of motion in the legs, with excellent molded pieces including the brilliant tail piece, along with the rubber used for this Pokemon's bangs to complete the hairpiece that was cleverly achieved with its bun. The warm colors on this set are also very pleasing to look at, tying together a great build.

Series 10 Aipom
Wave 10 has only just started to hit shelves, but I can already tell that Aipom is the best among them. Many of the others are lacking articulation, or recycle some of the older builds that aren't particularly stand out, but Aipom has long limbs and a larger body making for a funner, more agile build complete with the tail piece with certainly has it standing out among the others.
