Top 10 most wanted Star Wars the Black Series figures vol 4

While the movies in the Star Wars universe have begun to slow down, Hasbro's line of six inch Black Series figures based on the franchise only seems to be further growing as more and more fantastic figures are made in the line each year! While the original trilogy and the sequels seemed to dominate the line's focus for years, the line has finally gotten to a point where the entire franchise seems to share in what gets released, and I couldn't be happier for such variety! Some of my personal most wanted figures have happened as well, including Ackbar from ROTJ, Ewoks, the Mandalorian in his Beskar armor, Moff Gideon, Jar Jar, and more Rogue One figures with my most wanted figure for years, Bodhi Rook, finally getting his own Black Series figure! So with 2021 proving strong for collectors of the line, here is my vol 4 of my top 10 most wanted Star Wars the Black Series figure!

10. Galactic Marine and Dark Trooper
Doubling up on army builders for the first slot in my list, the Galactic Marines are easily some of my favorite Clone Trooper designs from the Prequels! I love how they seem to blend together the design of what will become the Snow trooper, and the purple and gray color scheme work so well together. The original Battlefront 2 also made them a nostalgic unit for me, complete with a gatling gun I hope the eventual figure includes. A more recent addition to Star Wars canon is the Dark Troopers seen in the Mandalorian season 2. These robotic soldiers were tough, imposing, and posed quite a threat throughout the final episodes of the season.

9. Echo (Bad Batch)
We've quickly put together the original full team of Bad Batch members with Wrecker and Tech coming out later this year. The expanded team is even going to be further added to with Omega being confirmed for a 2022 release, leaving Echo as the odd man out in the situation of the Bad Batch display! It was awesome to get his Arc trooper get up, but now I'm hankering for his unique Bad Batch design to finish the line up!

8. C-3PO (Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones)
The look Threepio had in the first two movies of the prequel trilogy were no doubt my favorite looks for the character across the saga! His usual shiny, gold plated design was first replaced by a naked, wire exposed look that would be a sculpting masterpiece if done right in the line! The second movie saw him finally getting armor to cover himself up with, but it was dingy, rusted, and such a close but different look for the character. Both of these I hope to see soon with Threepio's other designs pretty much covered.

7. Zam Wessel
Bounty hunters have been getting a lot of attention lately whether its characters from the Mandalorian show, or getting long time fan favorites like Cad Bane and Aurra Sing! One bounty hunter to make a splash in the opening acts of Attack of the Clones was the shapeshifting Zam Wessel whose chase scene throughout Coruscant is one of my favorite sequences in the franchise. I love the purple color scheme of her costume, and I'm excited to see whether it's an alternate head or faceplate Hasbro uses to recreate her morphing abilities.

6. Ahsoka Tano (Mandalorian)
Hasbro recently revealed a ton of upcoming Mandalorian characters who will be getting figures in the line either later this year or early next year, with some amazing choices like Mayfeld, Fennec, and Boba Fett in his nomad appearance all on the slate. A huge omission in my opinion though is that we're still having to wait to get Ahsoka Tano's first live action appearance immortalized in Black Series form. It was a major moment for fans of the Clone Wars and the character when she made the jump to live action, and with her own entire show on the horizon it is only a matter of time until another depiction of this character is in 6 inch form!

5. Jedi
I was ready for the Black Series to hurl themselves into the Prequel era Jedi after we had a wave gifting us with Kit Fisto, Plo Koon, and the Attack of the Clones versions of Anakin and Obi Wan all at once! Things seemed to have slowed though, and I'm still biding my time waiting for other great characters and designs like Ki Adi Mundi, Aayla Secura, and Luminara to be brought to the Black Series! I'm looking forward to whatever Jedi comes next though, and a Clone Wars Mace Windu would go great with the recently released Clone Wars Anakin and Obi Wan! Luke Skywalker from his Crait projection scene is another I've been waiting on for a long time.

4. Re-armored Boba Fett (Mandalorian)
While I'm supremely excited to be adding Boba Fett's nomad look from the Mandalorian to the shelf at some point in the future, I'm very shocked that his re-armored look wasn't the one they choice to make a figure out of first. Close to the gratification of seeing Ahsoka in live action, Boba's thrilling return to the Star Wars universe left my jaw dropped and I can't wait to see more of him in his own show coming this year! Hasbro has been releasing the same Empire Strikes Back Boba Fett for years, only shaking that up with the release of his Return of the Jedi redesign this year, and with Nomad Boba Fett coming in the future as well Hasbro should go ahead and capitalize on all of Boba's varied looks and give us both the run down look of his armor from the Mandalorian and the more polished look from the later episodes!

3. Padme Amidala (The Phantom Menace)
For a character whose outfits are some of the most memorable parts of the prequels, I think we have a tragic under utilization of her in the Black Series line. It took quite a while for us to get the first Padme figure in this scale, that one being based on her iconic white jumpsuit look from Attack of the Clones, and for the next Padme that is added to the line I hope it is one of her great looks from The Phantom Menace! Her Theed invasion gown is one of the most iconic looks from the entire prequel trilogy, and for a more action oriented figure her red jumpsuit from the movie's climax is a fantastic look for the character too!

2. Super Battle Droid and Droideka

Troopers and Clones and even Rebels now have been getting love from the Black Series line for a long, long time. Battle droids so far haven't had the same love despite being some of the most recognizable designs in the franchise, and fan favorite army builders made even more famous because of the Clone Wars show! The first Battle Droid we got was an awesome figure, with the obligatory Geonosis repaint a great next step; however, I'm ready for the other notable designs from the Separatist army! The Super Battle droids got play in the Mandalorian through flashbacks, making them relevant to recent media, and the Droideka would be ideal for another slot in the deluxe line!

1. Saw Gerrera
We finally, FINALLY have Bodhi Rook in the Black Series line! My most wanted figure for several years has finally been fulfilled with a fantastic looking figure and the top spot on my most wanted Black Series list can finally be relinquished to another character! It doesn't go far though, as Saw Gerrera takes the spot after spending a lot of time in second, and sometimes included alongside Bodhi as first to pair together Rogue One alums. I'm honestly surprised how far reaching Saw has become in terms of his presence in the Star Wars franchise! What was at first a small Clone Wars character making a cool jump to live action has lead to Gerrera appearing in Rebels, Jedi: Fallen Order, and now the Bad Batch show as well! With each new appearance in becomes more and more apparent how much of a missing figure he is from the Black Series and I hope he is made soon to properly round out Rogue One's principle cast.
