Most wanted Star Wars the Black Series figures from each Mandalorian season 2 episode vol 2
With Mandalorian season 3 fast approaching with no doubt plenty of new designs coming to the Star Wars world to be represented in the Black Series action figure line, let's first look back at season 2 and with so many great figures being put out at this point (Cobb Vanth, Mayfeld, Ahsoka, and Boba Fett among others) I've got a few more most wanted designs from each episode!
This was one of the first designs revealed for the show's second season and it is such a cool take on the Gamorrean species that would stand out compared to the primarily clothed and armored version we got from Return of the Jedi! It would add a great alien presence to the shelf, from a great opening to the show's second season!
The only one still left from my previous list on this subject, the Frog lady would be another fantastic alien figure to add to the collection! I loved her frog-like design and it would be an absolute travesty if she would not come with the container of eggs for Grogu to root around inside of for a snack!
We pretty quickly checked off Bo Katan as well as Koska Reeves into the line, leaving their third and final member of their trinity from episode 11 to be captured in action figure form! Axe Woves was conspicuously missing from the final episode of the season when his partners returned, but we know already that he'll be back for season 3, giving more precedence for a figure to be made!
Mando had his own little team for the mission in this episode and with Cara Dune looking the same from season 1, and Greef Karga's season 2 uniform being newly added to the line, that leaves the iconic Mythrol to round out the group as the getaway driver! He starred in the opening sequence of the entire show before returning for a more sizable appearance during this season 2 episode, and would make for another unique alien design.
Ahsoka was the one most sorely needed from this episode and we're getting her, along with the HK droids which are going to be a blast to pose around! My next choice from this episode would be Lady Elsbeth and Lang, the two in charge of the compound that Ahsoka and Mando broke their way into. Elsbeth would be a solid way to finally add the Beskar spear into the line as well!
Speaking of the Beskar spear...this episode was a bottle episode in the purest sense with it all pretty much taking place in one location with the bare minimum around of characters appearing. We got Boba Fett, Fennec, the Dark troopers, the Mortar troopers, pretty much every character design aside from nameless Imperial officers who we have several examples of that mold in the line already. So for this slot I will focus on missing accessories from the line, such as the Beskar spear which has become pretty useful in Mando's arms! The E-Web heavy repeating blaster is iconic from the battle of Hoth so seeing it here again was great.
One of my personal favorites episodes of the season, there was a lot of great action and great characters moments as well, especially where Mayfeld was concerned, and we actually have most of the primary designs from this episode checked off already with Mayfeld and the Transport trooper! I did spot the Shoretrooper captain design in the facility, which is the only Shoretrooper we're missing in the Black Series to this point. I also would not mind getting Valin Hess as he was an absolute snake and stood out as a repulsive character.
With Luke Skywalker based on this episode confirmed to be coming in the future of the line, my choices for designs from this final episode boil down to Dr. Pershing who would go fantastically with the recent Client figure we received from season 1! Also the fat Bib Fotuna seen in the series' post credit scene is an absolute must!
