Top 5 Star Wars Vintage Collection characters I want in Black Series
The Vintage Collection's history is much more vast than the Black Series when it comes to Hasbro's different Star Wars lines. It has been around for much longer, and had covered a lot of the Star Wars universe by the time Black Series really got up and moving. While it feels like Vintage Collection can sometimes not get as much movement as Black Series these days, it is undoubtedly still a viable line all its own and gets plenty of characters we're still waiting to see in the Black Series. So with both lines still chugging along strongly, these are the top 5 characters we've gotten in the Vintage Collection that I hope Black Series gets one day as well!
A very recent addition to the line, the Mythrol is one that I feel is very sorely missing from the Mandalorian shelfs! His appearance in the opening sequence of the show already makes him an iconic character to the series (it helps that his alien design helps him stand out) but then he got to play a sizable role in one of the season 2 episodes basically ensuring him a spot one day. I'm still waiting for that figure though!
I've been waiting for this figure for a while too, the rendition of the sequel trilogy Luke that embodied everything we wanted to see from an older, wiser Luke. He was heroic, he seemingly stood up to the whole of the First Order himself in one of the coolest shots of the trilogy! It was aged Luke, like I said, like we wanted to see him. With the line essentially having run out of original trilogy Lukes to make, I think it is time they jump back to the sequel trilogy, the Vintage collection already did.
This design isn't higher on the list simply because I'm getting distraught at talking about it at seemingly every turn! Black Series needs to hurry up and give us these wildly iconic designs to the Star Wars universe, it is nuts that we haven't gotten them yet. They would sell plentifully as army builders for the line, with the added backing of the Clone Wars series and Mandalorian's flashbacks adding to the popularity of these droids.
Sticking with the prequel trilogy for this slot, Attack of the Clones hasn't gotten a ton in terms of Black Series representation but this is one I think would fit really well into the line! Bounty hunters are some of the coolest Star Wars designs alongside Jedi and droids and this would be another to go with the set up, especially the Jango Fett, Obi Wan, and Anakin we have from that movie! Their recent experimentation with swap out faces (like the Hoth trooper) would be perfect to emulate her facial morphing.
There are so many awesome designs from the prequels that the line has to still take advantage of, and the Magna Guards are another prime example of an awesome droid design. We have had Grievous for a while now, so his personal guards are a must! Their bo staff weapons would be awesome accessories, and they're freaking droids in capes, that alone is awesome enough.
